Mine went in for a software up date today, went in and came out with the same number. Apparently it’s got the latest, so sat nav still not fixed.

You can single press for Skoda voice assistant and long press for Android voice assistant - just in case anyone hadn't stumbled across this.

Skoda should just have that on a banner above the entrance 🤬

It seems to (so far) fixedthe SOS and the dealer did so dont worry its a well known issue and easy fix... Fingers crossed!

I got the update around 3 to 4 weeks ago everything was fine until yesterday when I heard the popping noise from the screen then it dialled sos of its own volition. Then the sat nav went haywire. When I reached my destination I reset the unit by holding down the on/off button. Since then It won’t connect me as primary user just guest. Does anyone know a solution for this I have tried everything but no luck.

That happened to me today after they had finished with the car. I had to have them look at it again. I know they got the laptop out to sort it.

I've been into the dealer and had 6 hours worth of updates but none of the versions changed in the system screen. Service guy was pleasant and said they didn't change any h/w but that might be needed.

A week later all the issues started again and my local dealer says (different guy) we need to look again to see what faults has been logged - next available appointment 5 weeks away. Also said that if nothing has been logged and a fault isn't seen in the workshop we'll report no fault found. Seriously!

I started a case with Skoda Customer Care (or don't care) and clearly they are well aware of the issues but no admission - standard reply.

So frustrating, got to wait 5 weeks for what I reckon will be the standard couldn't find anything. I'm going to start taking pictures as I think this is the only way to get proof.

Is it bought or leased? If leased go to the lease company and make it their problem, that’s how I got mine sorted so quickly. Skoda customer services / dealer couldn’t care less, VWFS stepped in and within a week I had various options / offers. None of them fixed the car, but there were various incentives put on the table, in the end I chose to get shut and order something else.

Does anyone actually have a sat nav that remembers their favourites, road speed always shown on map, Air care that stays on.

Yes to all three. The first one worked after the MIB (control) unit was changed.

Yes, Yes, and dunno, never used it.

S/ware is 1668 and Device Part No. does not have a suffix/revision letter

Nav Db is 21.8

Had my car in for update last tuesday. I think it was like 5 different update actions. Including infotainment, kessy etc.

I have a B version on infotainment so my software went up to 1668 from 1664. No wireless android auto....🙄

  • 3 weeks later...

Skoda are still guessing. You have to feel sorry for the dealers who are selling this rubbish and left entirely without support.

You must have missed out, mine went in last week and came out with an upgrade from B to F and the latest software version with working Android Auto, if you're still having issues i'd try and get it back in and force them to update

Thanks but let us know in a few weeks. Mine is a working vehicle and I can't take it off the road. Android Auto has always worked with mine and my work colleagues report continuing issues after their updates.

I haven't trawled through all of the posts but I'd like to see if anyone is aware of the updates shown in the attached picture, it was on Facebook last week.

Sorry if this has already been posted!!!

That's the same versions that I posted last week in the km/h mph thread. My SEL 1st Ed went from no suffix to F and 1810.

I have Octavia 4 SEL FE Combi, like yours and mine went in for a software upgrade in September. Mine came out with this?  Anything I should know?DE1BEFF0-D66A-4815-9E17-59489FD01204.thumb.png.f445346b33de63f0fd2cba1ae602d360.png

Hi,

I picked up my Octavia iV VRS at the end of October and it came with the following. They claim there is no newer software yet I have the KPH issue with the road signs being shown in KPH and if using ACC I've had the car jump to 80 in a 30 by itself. Luckily I've been quick enough to brake before I got a speeding ticket.

Why can't they just admit that there are issues and fix them.

Skoda's rotten software will kill someone.

VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat all using the same software on MIBs. Thats a lot of cars with this/similar software. Unlike for a mobile phone SW upgrade car owners have to take the cars in and even leave them overnight. Garages must be stretched with trying to keep customers happy. VW Group can not  have tested sufficiently before release.

I have just less than 2 yrs warranty remaining. What will owners do regarding software problems after warranties expire?

I have a B suffix and due to go in for a service and all the updates next week, will wait and see.  One interesting thing was when I booked it and asked about the updates, I knew about 2 of them (97C1 and 69BN) but the woman on the service desk said it was due 3 updates.  She then said "let me read this ones description" before telling me that it could take up to 3 days for this update to complete.  Seemed like a fairly arbitrary number to pluck out of thin air for a software update and she wouldn't go into details instead referring me to "the service guys will explain".

This stuff annoys me, I'm a big boy - just tell me what is going to happen to my £28k multi ton lump of metal that I sit inside of and paid for, then fix the problem.

Agree. So frustrating. Hope we get fully functioning MIBs before end of warranty year 3, but I’ve already decided to change cars before the warranty expires with this in mind and because of noisy transmission. So guess I’ll be driving a battery car sooner than expected. I’ve learnt a lesson with this car and will strongly consider leasing in future.

I got my new car beginning of November and it has exactly the same unit and software as yours.

When you say its showing the road signs in kph, is that in the sat nav or do you have traffic sign recognition ?

My sat nav is showing the signs correctly in mph, i dont have traffic sign recognition.

The sat nav favorites and setting home destination is not working, hope they sort that out asap

Touch wood everything else is working ok

I contacted SkodaServiceuk on the basis of the recent screen shots on the forum showing different software. I too  have the km/h issue, but find the built in satnav and Laura poor, so I use Siri on Apple CarPlay instead.

Here is part of the response:

In relation to the screenshots provided it would also depend on the type of head unit in the vehicle and the specification as these can vary. I will speak to my technical team to see if this would make any difference and get back to you by Wednesday next week.’

Not sure exactly what a ‘Head Unit’ is but guess it may be either: the visible screen unit itself or some control box concealed in the car somewhere.
