Bragging!

Threads on here that refers to any form of street racing is quite rightly frowned upon and generally gets berated by members replies.

My point though is that I have a side to me, an immature teenage state of mind, that rears it's head very occassionally that has the need to show off and blast past that car coz my car is faster than you and then have the need to tell the whole world about it!. :o

Yes, I realise what I've just written sounds absolutely pathetic but surely I'm not the only one who has these pangs or do I have a disease for which there is no cure?.

do I have a disease for which there is no cure?.

It is a disease but there is a cure.

What colour would sir like his Micra in? :D

Rob.

Rest easy Mr Makefish, I too have victorious stories to tell and have bitten my lip many a time ;):D

Quite normal Mr Makefish.

I too have my moments.............

I found myself at a set of traffic lights just yesterday, 3 lanes, 70mph limit, I was in the middle between a Honda Civic Type R and a Lotus Elise. I couldn't believe we ALL showed amazing self restraint and pulled away slowly. I suspect however that none of us were sure whose car was fastest ! ;)

I never race or speed and drive a standard vRS.......

I found myself at a set of lights the other week next to an A3 3.2 Quattro. I showed restraint, as one always does ;) , but the A3 driver didn't and tore away from the lights  I retained all dignity, but it would have been good to show what a 'standard' Skoda can do..... although it would not be big or, indeed, clever :D

Or, like many drivers of flash cars (at least the Boxster and TT 225 drivers I know....), they'd never gone above about 3000rpm on part throttle and wouldn't know if they were fast or not!

I don't really "race" on the road, I have nowt to prove being in an SDI.

On the track however.........

I never make anybody wonder how a Skoda just wasted them, ever. :D

More fun on a track though, you know pretty much for certain that they are trying :D

My bragging story........

I beat a remapped Fabia VRS in a drag race - twice ;)

I dont know as I couldnt see his face in my rear view mirror............ he was too far behind

Yeah a Fabia RS is all well and good Phil, reckon you could "have" an SDI Octy though? :D

Depends if it has a sticker of "the Isle of White" on the back or not ;)

The one in question may well have ;) Rather like the 1.4 16v in my avatar :D

I have the same childish streak... i AM still a child. I just keep quiet on here about them. Its the kind of thing more acceptable down the pub with mates.... :)

tsk.

No - PUB! as in pints of beer, not quarter pounders. :P

Real ale is much better for you I think. I could manage 30 days drinking nothing but beer.

Only when you get some ****e-mobile with every bit of bling on it next to me revving his engine do I turn off traction control and give him a good dose of the soot that has accumulated from the usual slower driving.

Rare but it happens

If i'm honest, i'm baited quite easily. If i'm in the Fabia, laughter from the car next to me at the lights incites a "speedy" departure from the white lines.

In the Octavia, mr smug of bmw/mec/lexus ville usually gets shown up too.

Childish - silly - and irresponsible.*

(*laughimg at Skoda's that is :D )
