Reverse camera: night vision

The problem is not the display brightness (that is a separate setting), but the camera "brightness" (another setting in the Park Assist settings menu, also adjusted automatically by the camera or software).

Ok. But there is no difference on my car. I'll check again if I did turn of the lights completely the other night.

I made a photo of default settings (contrast and brightness set to middle) and same, but with lights turned off, on the same spot.

A day and night difference. In the first, you can barely see anything.

The "lights on" picture can be improved by cranking the brightness up to the max (and contrast to minimum, although I am not sure now if it really matters).

And here is a Toyota Yaris 2019 on the same spot.

A bit blurry (camera was probably dirty), but not dark like Octavia.

My Toyota Auris had a similar camera and the image was also excellent.
I had a couple of hire cars while waiting for my Octy and they had cameras and weren’t very good so I was happy not having one on my Octy. I’ve not really missed it as the sensors work really well on their own.
