Tarting up the trim.

Featured Replies

So i,ve started making my little fabia look a bit nicer inside as its crap weather.

So far colour stitched seat covers and steering wheel cover and i,ve started on carbon fiber wrapping parts of the interior (work in progress still) and wondered what you guys have done on your furbies to tart them up a bit.

I've changed my gearstick gaiter, added an armrest, among other things. I'd suggest checking my project thread. I've got more stuff lined up too.

Thanks! The suspension (springs etc.) replacement currently not a necessity but will be addressed when I feel it's time. I've got a throttle position sensor to replace first. I'd also rather get the bushes done because it creaks like hell over bumps. :D

We've got the neds (see Scottish TV show, Still Game for neducation) and they've been vandalising folk's cars and so on. I've got a Springer Spaniel who has already chased one of them out of the garden when they tried to nick one of the bins.

Does anyone know if the black plastic strips on the bumpers can be popped off as I want to recolour them and would rather remove if possible ???

It's easy if you take the bumper off, nearly impossible if you don't.

For info on bumper removal...

I had a gouge out of my passenger mirror as if it had been up a brick wall. Fortunately I knew a guy who fixed it for £30, for filler and respray etc. You could always get a cover off of a scrap car too and make it a neat wee job I suppose.

I had a recommendation, also for when it's warmer, have you considered replacing your lower grey trim panels for black from a Comfort, Ambiente, vRS, or Elegance? I reckon it'd smarten up your car a little, if you don't mind me saying so.

I think your thinking of the wrong trim mate mine is a comfort and I've upgraded spots and such nd have meshed the grills etc looks way nicer I just mean the thin strips on the pumpers and I repaired one of the covers before but dome idiot whacked this one when it was parked up I want new covers as I have dome special paint I want to fo them eith if I can find a set.

There's Comfort models with grey trim (mostly older ones) and some with black trim. See here:

I wouldn't know, I avoid wrapping like the plague.

There's a video for removing it, if that helps.
