Park assist use

Featured Replies

Can anyone explain the procedure for using Park assist to memorise parking the car on the drive, not to be mixed up with regular parking bay or parallel parking mode. Yeah I know 'use your driving ability and your eyes'  but if it's fitted I'd like to make use of it, additionally our drive is unlit, and  with cars dotted here and there.

It won't take too long to get all these requests out there honest🤞

Thanks in advance!

I didn't realise that was even an option!

Sorry, not able to locate the info my wife spotted. I've searched the infotainment screen but can't see anything, there again I'm a bit of a troglodyte when comes to computer stuff. If my IT Guru comes up trump with the method I'll put on here!

I don't think it's clever enough to this, unless the vacant spot on your driveway is very close to the roadside. It needs the parking sensors to identify the gap to work each time.

I really rate the system though, it definitely gets you into spaces you might not ordinarily attempt

Never been a fan of the way ‘park assist’ can get you into a impossibly tight space, inasmuch as those to the front and rear have to get out and as we all know, too many drivers don’t have the ability without some ‘assist’!

Pretty sure the Superb's PLA 3.0 doesn't have any "memory" function or element to it.

Agreed, but most people tend to park with generous gaps so it's never been an issue. I wouldn't wedge the car into a spot where someone else would be trapped :)

I wonder if your wife might have seen something about "Trained Parking" mentioned back in 2015 regarding the e-Golf...

No idea if it made it to market though 😕

It's Emerald Green. They've stopped offering it in the UK but I think it's still available in mainland Europe
