2009 superb front coil spring part number

Recommended Posts

Hi, looking for some help in identifying the part number for my 2009 superb 2TDI 140BHP. i need to replace both front coil springs and i had a look on ETKA to find the part number but seem to get confused  with the various models and letters thrown at me...  any help in decoding this for me is highly appreciated... :)

If your car has build code L03, it will have front springs with OEM part number 3C0411105C.

If your car has build code L04, it will have front springs with OEM part number 1K0411105BP.

As you can see, knowing your car's build codes makes it easy to identify what springs you have (and shock absorbers, and brakes, and many other parts on your car).

However, if you don't know your build codes, the following should help.

If you have a 2009 Superb MK2 2.0TDI 140HP 2WD with manual gearbox and standard ride height (eg. not +15mm increased ride height, or -15mm lowered ride height) you will have front springs with OEM part number, or something similar.

If you have a 2009 Superb MK2 2.0TDI 140HP 2WD with automatic DSG gearbox and standard ride height (eg. not +15mm increased ride height, or -15mm lowered ride height) you will have front springs with OEM part number 1K0411105BP, or something similar.

You can see in the chart below, that a 3C0411105C front spring has 1 orange dot, 1 green dot, and 2 yellow dots...and a 1K0411105BP front spring has 1 red dot, 1 white dot, and 1 red dot or 2 orange dots and 1 white dot.

Also dont go for O.E springs they are crap. they rust and are made from old Lada's

Went for Lesjofors for the 3rd set  and they have out lasted the 2 sets of O.E I put on and still look brand new with no flaking of paint 😉

KYB RH3559 are sold to replace 3C0411105C and are available on ebay for about £20 each.

3C0411105C

Kilen 25068

Lesjofors 4095086

Kilen/Lesjofors are the same springs, made in the same factory in Sweden.

Kilen/Lesjofors don't give the specifications of their springs which can be a disadvantage.

What do you think of Sachs? the shocks absorbers on my car are sachs so was thinking of using the same brand... Will Kilen/Lesjofors springs be on on Sachs absorbers ?

Sachs 993 061 or sometimes listed as Sachs 993061 (ie. without the space) is sold to replace 3C0411105C.

They are no better than KYB RH3559 that also matches 3C0411105C.

On ebay, the virtually identical Sachs is about two-and-a-half times the price.

It seems like a no-brainer to go for the KYB, or at least something much better value than the Sachs.

KYB claim their spring/shocks, etc. are fitted to about 25% of new cars. Whatever the exact percentage, they are certainly very big players.

Kilen 25068 is available on ebay for about £26 each, so again much better value than Sachs.

I doubt Sachs actually make the springs. I've got some, and they are just plain black springs with a Sachs sticker that someone has stuck on. The Sachs sticker itself is all crinkled, and peels off very easily...and sticks back on very easily. This suggests that Sachs hasn't actually made this spring, as I would have thought they would have marked it more permanently if they had made it.

The amount of rebranding in aftermarket parts in on a massive scale. So often the parts that are sold under different brand names seem the same...but there are differences sometimes.

Just look how many brands are selling springs to replace 3C0411105C on autodoc. I'm counting 38 different brands. There certainly isn't anything like 38 different factories making this same specification of spring. What's happening, is that there's a lot of rebranding going on...although the springs are unlikely to have come out of just one factory.

38 different brands of 3C0411105C springs listed on autodoc (there's a lot of rebranding going on)

https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/3c0411105c?search=OEN+3C0411105C&supplier[0]=253&supplier[1]=85&supplier[2]=246&awc=12639_1641577297_083478a8bfdbfbc4389cbb77895f0485&supplier[3]=32

With KYB and Kilen/Lesjofors you are more likely to find that these firms have actually made their own springs. I bought some Kilen/Lesjofors springs, and they had manufacturers' codes laser etched onto them, not some dodgy sticker applied as some kind of afterthought.

Very useful @Carlston many thanks. I am not looking for the cheapest option as i want something decent on my car. I cannot understand why Autodoc are selling Kilen for £42 whereas ebay £26 !! I might as well just buy it from ebay then.

Make you wonder how much of this research a car repair garage is doing before selecting a product for their customers !! I will be doing this repair myself hence doing the research but normally you do to a garage and all what you get told is a fitted price without even given the option on brands etc. and of course it is sky high price !! some garages are utter disgrace

I bought what was supposed to be a matched pair of springs from autodoc. One weighed about twice as much as the other spring and was massively bigger.

This is why it's important to know the specification of the springs that you are buying. I sent the springs back for a refund, but autodoc refused to refund the cost of shipping them back...saying that I hadn't paid the £3 or £4 extra for the free return service...even though they were in breach of contract for supplying me with incorrect goods.

For this reason, I prefer to buy from ebay especially as it's often cheaper. On ebay, return shipping is paid for if incorrect goods are sent out.

+1 for Lesjofors/Kilen I have fitted 4 sets now and they have all performed far better then the OE ones although you would have to work hard to produce something even worse!

And a thumbs down from me for Autodoc and the multitude of other supposed web based companies that are all in fact Autodoc and use exactly the same page layout, many of the brands they list they dont stock, I have known many people pay more for a certain big name brand known to them only for Autodoc to send out the same parts but from other pretend brands & again refuse to pay for or accept the return, Ebay and Paypal are always better for the buyer.
