Skoda connect and update errors

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anyone has a solution for the issue I have with Skoda connect.

I have a duplicated licence in the infotainment online services for Points of interest one is valid the other says no licence .

This would not be an issue except that when the system tries to upgrade the maps a licence expired notIce comes up. This seems to be related  to invalid licence in the poi’s .

Skoda UK have been corresponding with me for months but no resolution.

The dealers don’t seem to have a clue.

The other issue I have is the dealer managed to remove the fec for Media command which was working when I purchased the car from them. Skoda UK and the dealer don’t seem to know how to restore this function. Fortunately I took screen shots of the installed codes and other info before they started to play with the system when Skoda connect stopped working the first time round when they performed some sort of update on the car.

My car is a Skoda superb spores line 190 tsi facelift. MIB 2.5 unit with data chip fitted. Build date November 2019. First registered Jan 20

I am starting to despair .

Cheers for any assistance

Here in Australia, the Skoda app MyŠkoda provides little or no information since they "upgraded" the app. No longer does it show any service history as it did before. At least your dealers communicate with you. I get a blank look from the dealer and no response from Škoda Australia.😡

Hi @David55

I have the exact same issue as you had!

Did you ever resolve this?

Skoda have been no help so far and I’m paying for a subscription that doesn’t deliver! Very frustrated.

i took the case to the ombudsman who after around 12 months ruled in

my favour . Skoda UK said it was a software issue caused by a Third party i.e not them The dealer who refused to admit any fault but was ordered to replace the MIB control unit . I had no faith in them at that point . I took a cash settlement and had the unit reflashed by an independent vag technician  who told me an update had been interrupted and not properly cleared before starting again hence duplicate licences . The guy who did mine is no longer around but east Yorkshire retrofits have since done some work for me and maybe able to help . My unit still shows an invalid licence but the updates now work . Never got the Media Command working again as Skoda don’t support it in the uk anymore so cannot get the app on y new phone or FEC restored without hacking the system and as it’s still under warranty didn’t want to do down that line .

I found skoda uk and the dealer didn’t seem to understand their own tech and programming .

Does anyone know if the Skoda connect app is working properly I have superb mk3 2018 and as of the 27th of January the app doesn't seem to be connecting with the car I'm currently paying for this service and not sure whether to renew it in April. Anyone having same problems.

Mine's working ok - if you haven't, I would suggest logging out and back in again, then deleting the app and reinstalling it. Its not a great app - updates do make it flaky from time to time, but mine's ok (on an iphone15 - not sure if android version)

mine is working ok . Is your car connected to the internet . Mine lost connection once had to log out of services on the MIB unit in settings ( internet connection ) hard reset and log back which restored my services .

Sorry see it’s the app. It can be temperamental . The original app has a new version try logging out deleting and reinstalling .

Thanks all,  I have Logged out and back in again, deleted the app and reinstalled and today is the first time that it's come back online for just a short while since the 27th of January. So I'm just assuming that is problems their end with the app, I will keep a check on it and let you know how it goes if the problem persists I certainly won't be renewing it in April as it would be just a waste of money.

Thank Again

Sounds like some progress. Other thing is to check the App Store for feedback. Might find people starting to complain on there if the latest version is garbage.

If you encounter any Skoda Connect issues after infotainment update, try to pull and put back fuse 17 (instrumentspanel and Emergency call). That did the trick for me last week. (Fuse pull tool in lid of fusebox under the hood).
