Have HEX+CAN - update to V2 or to buy something else instead..?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Have both Skoda Superb II  and Superb III (17 plated).

Have already original HEX-CAN, but on S3 it does not support one or two new modules.

Need advice - buy new HEX, VCP or maybe to buy something else completely?  Sort of capable of spending 225 pounds on new VCDS interface anyway, but maybe there is another way..?

My fuel-saving(not) engine stop/start feature is ****ing me off, so maybe VCP would be an viable option to cover all the angles and have flexibility..?

Not excluding possibility of putting current cable for sale, but prefer not to trade any functionalities in that deal either..?

Thanks

https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/RetHEX/   but I can't see it listed on the Gendan site as an option, so might pay to contact Ross Tech direct and see if this offer is available in the UK ?

I'm pretty sure I've seen on the Ross-Tech forums that Gendan offer upgrades so worth contacting them first to avoid import delays/costs from the US.

Bought it in good few years back in what is now German Car Specialist Ltd, 181 Forest Road, Ilford, Essex, IG6 3HZ, they were called something else then..

Any suggestion to do it in different way?

I’ve got a HEX-V2 for sale in the classifieds

I'd be tempted to sell your HEX-CAN USB on eBay as they tend to go for £250-£300

It'll probably work out cheaper than the upgrade path :)

Hi, update:

After long deliberations I've decided to buy new VCSA V2. Can't argue with support from Ross-Tech, recent issues with VCP don't raise my confidence in that and was using some flavour of bluetooth dongle - wasnt fan of it either.

I do not know yet what I'll do with original one TBH, not priority to decide now.

Thanks for all pointers thou, appreciate.

I am considering trip to someone with VCP thou to kill that stop-start BS feature (I know - to reverse it's starting status, but my way express my feeling towards it)..
