Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where I can get a

pipe to Power Steering Pump

for

2007 skoda superb comfort auto 2.5L 4 door saloon

please?  Otherwise I have to throw away a car that cost me £3,000.

Anyone breaking this model, s/hand pipe will do?

car far too good to give up on as has no faults.

My mechanic says the Skoda dealer told him they no longer make or sell this part.

what is TPS? 3rd party sellers?

Am googling, trying all breakers in UK, also ebay.

Would I be correct in thinking this is a MK1 skoda superb?

If so it's essentially a stretched passat, so you may well find you can widen your search for parts if you're lucky.

Somebody somewhere will make the part and even if they didn't you could almost certainly get a custom one made up for far less than it would cost to buy a banger at current second hand car prices.

For now I'll move the thread to the MK1 Superb section, as you'll get a wider audience there.

Yes the Log book says under J: Vehicle category - M1.

I will look on this website for Superb MK1 category thanks a lot.

No idea how to find people who make one, on the internet, what would they be called? Manufacturers of custom parts?

I've already moved the thread for you :)

In terms of parts, I've linked to two suppliers in my second post just above this one.

If you click the section that says reveal hidden contents you'll see two links :)

M1 is the vehicle approval category not it's MK # that goes on the year of manufacture in your profile you state 2007 so it's that what makes it a MK1

I'm a touch confused about where this has come from?

When I look for PAS hoses for v6 diesel 2007 Superb these are the ones I'm seeing: LLLParts  Don't see the one you've mentioned @cheezemonkhai?

Item 10 or 12 if it's one that connects to the pump? Would be the second item 10 part number for a RHD car, and not to sure how to work out which of the two item 12s apply. Some difference between versions of the 2.5l diesel I think.

Am I being daft?

I was looking up parts for a petrol engine as I’d stupidly seen >2L and thought it was the vr6 engine.

You are far more likely to be correct on the part number, but the part looks very similar to part 10, so I wonder if it’s a common part with different part numbers per brand.

was 4b0 a Passat by any chance?

I traced the part no you gave me ending 3A. Spoke to the links on the phone.

seems there are two pipes-hoses to power steering pump:

1) from expansion hose to pump

2) from pump to steering rack.

They gave me a slightly different part no. My mechanic says need pump to steering gear.

While looking at a book by Skoda showing parts they said

Part No. is 3B2422893C.

I will continue searching the while internet since Skoda have none nor make it any more. Pretty annoying fir a car that is otherwise perfect. They added, this little piece of hose would probably cost around £400. Nevertheless, the car cost thousands last year, so cannot give up. Very glad I have you guys support.

This lot in CZ suggest somebody has one in stock:

https://www.oemvwshop.com/3b2422893c-expansion-hose-from-vane-pump-to-steering-gear-p275053/

I know nothing of the company though, so can not verify if they are any good or otherwise.

This lot I linked to before list it as a part for the superb, was it them you called?

https://www.worldcarparts.co.uk/calculator/steering-suspension/steering-hose-pipe/hydraulic-hose-steering-system-febi-bilstein-33937

Good luck with your hunt, as it certainly doesn't look like an easy part to track down.

Hopefully if yours is damaged it's on the hose section, as I imagine you might be able to find a company who could rebuild that if you're lucky.

Yes its Diesel and engine is 2.5 Litre. Spent all day on this, and no doubt many days following since  cannot go anywhere any more.

Sorry I dont know about Passat, but as there are two different pipes going into pump I believe it is the one from there to steering rack. Horrific experience as only had the car just over a year. There must surely be One in the whole of the UK. Otherwise I have lost £3,000.

Thank you everyone, I have contacted all the links sent to me on briskoda and hope to hear from them or phone them next Monday. But Pete, ex wino, none of the part numbers have come up beginning with a figure 4.

I am sticking to the original or updated Skoda part numbers as I thought, if I deviate on to part numbers made by other companies, they will not be the one that a lady at Skoda gave me.
Despite the fact Skoda says the part is "obsolete" she was referring to their own manual. They also said their parts are only good for ten years.

I felt bound to say that I and others have more faith in your cars than you do.

No I dont think that is the number. All my research so far seems to indicate part No. 3B2422893C.

Using your part number (Which is probably correct):

https://oemwolf.com/oem-parts/3b2422893c.html

https://www.oemvwshop.com/3b2422893c-expansion-hose-from-vane-pump-to-steering-gear-p275053/

https://www.fixparts-online.co.uk/en/audi-flexible-h-3b2422893c.html

https://www.german-spare-parts.net/schlauch-part-number-3b2422893c.html

Again I can't comment on any of the sites, they're just from a basic search.

At least one site implies parts are somehow connected to Moscow, which could cause an import headache.

Still it's somewhere to start and if you can find the original spec, a pipe specialist will be able to build you one, albeit at a cost.

Thank you so much for your time cheezemonkhai

I am a little nervous about buying from Latvia via Czech republic or Shanghai.

Pages come up quoting dollars.

this morning I have found the part in Bulgaria, Czech, Latvia, some of which were found on Trustpilot website as scams, although there were some good reviews.

I like Trustpilot but who knows which reviews are genuine, especially the good ones.

Trouble is, since Brexit, we have no legal redress system if wrong product turns up, or never arrives.

I dont know whether to risk £200-350 for a hose involving the above mentioned countries, as if goods never arrive, or wrong one, what could one do?

P.s.  the German website says you must spend a minimum 500 euros to place any order.

Being desperate I will look at every suggestion, and grateful for them, but as I say, buying from far away, dont think I could force a refund.

Bit I won't give up yet, will try as many UK car breakers as I can find.

Thanks a lot cheesemonkhai,

I have contacted them twice by accident now and asked if they have or can get one.

I have done nothing but email and phone breakers and every possible source day and night since last Friday.

It pays to advertise, the more people and organisations I ask and register with the more chance if finding the one and only s/h hose in the whole of the UK.

It would be a terrible shame to lose such a beautiful powerful otherwise perfect car.

I have in addition followed up everybody's advice here. You all helped me before when battery kept failing. Following good advice been driving it about a 20 mile run once a week - not less, maybe a bit more, and never had that problem ever again, and came to love this car.
