4 and a half year old isn't that fresh

but was in a plastic wrap and stored in a dark and cool shelf. 😄

Aside from jokes i had no other option because VIKA was immediately available, i wish i could buy from another brand but i can not find in the market hoses with that ''end'' to the thermostat.

I have seen quality (often made in Italy) aftermarket hoses for example:

https://petsastools.gr/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/solina-psigeion-autokinitou-t-352aa-2.jpg

but...

As for the silicone hoses i have the same ''issue'' plus a hesitation.

After few kilometres in a small Mountain Road and in City Traffic: the front-end is a bit more tighter than before, no vibrations starting from traffic light in low rpm or going from 2nd to 1st (and accelerate) for example while braking due to a front car sudden deceleration.

results please

Been in that position with replacement old car parts many, many times, we don't buy these parts out of choice but because we are out of choices.

You are right, if i had time i could order from another brand as: LEMFÖRDER,SACHS,IMPERGOM,SKF etc and wait few days but the car was parked outside the repair-shop, the mechanic had time to fix it the same day so i agreed.

@Thefeliciahacker what you suggest?

Can i see your alignment result sheet?

I didn't took it, i mean i didn't asked for printing.

I have some of them from the past but never had to study them because i don't understand completely plus no one (mechanic) ever asked me to see the previous ones.

Just before the MOT test another unpleasant surprise, the mechanic found that the gaiters must be changed.

Now at August it's difficult to find an open store for parts due to the Summer vacations so i had to buy whatever was available.

Lobro 302749 (6U0498205)

https://www.trodo.com/bellow-set-drive-shaft-lobro-302749

Falga 26.1533-0S (6U0498201A)

https://www.maxxparts.eu/falga/1321407_falga-26-1533-os?limit=25

Are you able to move the MoT to a more convenient time of the year?

In the UK you can get an MoT up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out and keep the same renewal date - or as I have done get an even earlier date and just lose part of the existing year. I've taken the MoT for my wife's car from end of September to middle of July as this is more convenient to get any checks or work done on the car.

No,there is a specific day and the limit is 7 days more.

If you past this there is a fine:

The fine for a late MOT inspection depends on the vehicle category and the time of delay. For passenger cars, the fine can be €16 for a delay of up to 30 days, €33 for a delay of 30 days to 6 months and €65 for a delay of more than 6 months.

In addition, the lack of a MOT report in a Police traffic inspection is a traffic violation and is punishable by a fine of €400, which can be reduced to 1/8 (€50) if a valid Technical Inspection Report is presented within 10 days.

Each MOT has a specific colour round sticker for the licence plate, shows the month and the year so a Policeman can understand in a second if you are illegal or not.

In a traffic stop if you have a 2015 sticker and the year is 2025 then ''you're done", no excuses and no matter what you say you will get a ticket.

Wow, how quaint, in the UK the Police, or anyone else, can look up to the if a car is MoT'd by looking up online using its registration plate. You can also look up the MoT history of the car going back to 2005. - https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history

The Police cars have ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) linked to databases plus they are roadside cameras. - "At present ANPR cameras nationally, submit on average around 60 million ANPR ‘read’ records to national ANPR systems daily." - https://www.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/rs/road-safety/automatic-number-plate-recognition-anpr/

The car's registration plates can remain the car for it's whole life as long as they're not broken or can't be read.

Cars that are more than 40 years old (with no 'substantial changes' made to the vehicle in the last 30 years) don't need a MoT but must still be roadworthy to be used on public roads.

Same here but for a Policeman from just a glance in the sticker the first impression can be made,

https://www.carandmotor.gr/sites/default/files/styles/horizontal_rectangle/public/2025-04/aytokollito%20kteo.jpg?itok=sqDarpyR

then an online check is following by smartphone or onboard Police interceptor laptop. Also they check for the official black carved stamp if it's on the license plate.

Any citizen can check in gov.gr (after Login) for informations about any car (if is on the road or for recycle, original colour, insurance).

Same here but not in all patrol cars, especially in the country they haven't yet. When we see a patrol car slowly moving to right lane in Athens with blue light in the same pace as hazard lights then we know that is scanning licence plates of parked cars.

Road cameras (around 1388 for start) for Police use started installed from Summer 2025 in Attica, they will used to detect traffic violations (red light-stop sign-use of cellphone-excessive speed etc) and then the fines will show-up to your Revenue Service page.

Previous were Lemforder 3017501

LEMFORDER-Oslona-przekladni-kierowniczej

and lasted about 2 years.

SKF or MOOG don't worth the extra cost?

In English are called ''parking lights'',here in Greece we call them ''position lights".

We turn them On when the sun starts goes down or at dawn when there is no need for strong light.

ΦΘΣ-.jpg

One was burned and the other turned to ''yellowish'' (was ''Ice cool when it was new).

I realise it when i saw my car in a reflection of a store-front,in GR cars with one light only On are called for fun as ''One eye pirate".

A replacement set was ordered, W5W in 6000K,i didn't want yellow at 3000K.

Has someone bumped the front right headlight?

  • Author

The plastic cover beneath it isn't in proper position (as the other in the right side).

The bumper in his left side (as you look the photo) is moving a bit due to a parking ''hit and run'', the right side has scrtaches for the same reason.

I will make a try go for a paint job together with the fender (driver's side).

hit and run

I hate this, honestly, if I were in a hurry, I would leave a note, if I couldn't leave a note I would take the license plate and then figure a way to contact them through my insurance provider
