Space saver spare wheel. I have been offered a space saver wheel kit.

Only have a goo kit.

Wheel is 15" and 5 stud.  Was purchased for a Hyundai, not sure what model.

Are these wheels a universal item.

Thanks

No, they're not.  Certain measurements need to be an exact match, or within a very fine tolerance.

The PCD (Pitched Circle Diameter) is the circle taking the centre point of the five bolt holes.  VAG differ, although common sizes are 112mm and 110mm.

The Centre bore is the hole in the middle of the wheel.  VAG again vary, as will Hyundai.  Too large a centre bore can sometimes be adapted with the aid of a spigot ring.  Too small and it simply might not fit.

The offset is the distance from where the wheel sits against the hub to how far in or out the wheel sits.  Perhaps not so critical on a space saver, but too far in and it will rub on the suspension, and too far out and it'll rub on the wheel arch. Neither are okay.

If you can get the measurements, there are various websites you can check if it'll fit, or not as the case may be.

No they are not universal, it needs to be the correct PCD and the correct centre bore to go over the bearing casting

The Fabia rims have a specification of 5/100 57.1 so you can't use rims with a specification of 5/112 57.1

Wheels from bigger cars such as Octavia MK2/3/4, Superb, Karoq, Kodiaq, won't fit the Fabia because these bigger cars use a 5/112 57.1 rim specification and not the smaller 5/100 57.1 rim specification, ie. the hub centre bore of 57.1mm is the same but the BCD (Bolt Circle Diameter) for the wheel bolts is different.

Space saver rims aren't common with a specification of 5/100 57.1

Unless you drive on unusual roads or like to hit kerbs just keep your tyres and wheels in reasonably good condition and have a footpump (preferably manual if possible) and you'll probably never need a spare wheel and tyre.  If you want to carry the goo and worry about punctures then you may also want to keep the goo in date.

Most people who carry a spare wheel so very rarely use it, if ever, that they forget to check it's fully inflated (the spacer savers go to much higher pressure) or it can be totally flat, so they often need inflating before they can be used in which case often you could have inflated the tyre already on the car and very safely got home or where you're going on a full size tyre that matches the other three, I've done this three times in about 30 years.

Of course if you live near a builders yard or similar then you might more frequently get punctures and perhaps want or need a spare wheel.

I carry one, because when I've needed ones it's been out of the way, usually late at night or on a sunday and with damage to the sidewall (or even the wheel).

That's not anything goo can fix and it's unlikely recovery will get you on your way.

The main culpret over the years (but far from exclusive) have been potholes and when you hit one of these it's spare wheel or call recovery.

A few have been nails/screws etc, but then that's been dealt with by a spare or if the nail is well in inflating the tyre and driving to the nearest tyre repair centre. That's fine, but not an option in the middle of nowhere.

TBH you would be better off going to a breakers yard and buying the whole kit with wheel, jack, tools etc.

Fair enough, different people with different vehicles in different conditions and circumstances have different needs and wants.
