Mis-badged rear end?

Featured Replies

It seems quite common here for people to mis-badge their cars. Boyced, TaviaRS, ColinD and others have all done it at some point.

So..... do people actually pay any attention to the badge ? You'd have to be pretty close to read a 1.6 badge on an Octavia wouldnt' you?

What is the smallest engine they did in an Octavia ? 1.4 or 1.6 ?

Well Mine is a 1.4 16v.

Mine was a 1.4 16v too :D

75bhp of whale choking power

Yes, people do look and notice.

Mines a 1.4 16v but you see a lot of them over here.

My current one says SDI :D

Mine says 1.6...

I see a bandwagon on the horizon!

I suppsoe it's better than using badges from another marque. A saxo in Tamworth has TypeR badging

I think it's a great idea, putting a 1.4 / SDI / whatever badge on the back of the car. Less chance the car will get nicked too, maybe.

I have no comment to make about the Saxo Type-R that wouldn't involve the swear filter, so I'll leave it ;)

mine says vRS

Mine says Nissan :)

I had a renault 5 GTL years ago and i chopped the L off and some wag wrote turbo beside it..... didnt fool any1

thats an original Rice boy move :D

I think it's funny, but I'd probably never do it to a car I owned. Tend to just debadge, keep it plain and clean :D

Steve

one of my cars says mazda, one says ford and the other has nothing on it

My car says...........................Ohhh hang on I don't have one at the 'mo DAMNIT!!!!

Mine's a 1.4 16V on stilts. :rubchin:

I often wonder about rebadging - presumably the people who take note of the badges are car enthusiasts, otherwise they wouldn't notice. Presumably if they're car enthusiasts they can tell the difference

I'd love a 1.2 badge on mine but I reckon people would spot the rear disks and not believe it anyway :(

I've been toying with the idea of removing the FABIA and vRS badges as a deterrent. Perhaps if I do decide to take them off, I might go with an SDI for a little while if its only a couple of quid for the badge ;)

I was thinking of re-arranging the 'Octavia' letters to form 'Ciao', but then realised that this would be totally pretentious. Still without any letters at all.

What words can you think of using the entire model range

'FATSTER' might be quite appropriate for the Furby (and some owbners too! ) - it is a bit of a lard-ar$e!

Well mine is a 1.4 16V and it was mis-badged since i got it.. but i would like to put on a BIG 1.4 badge on the bak so that when i kick some 2.0 Golfs n some other Japanese cars they know that it was a 1.4 that did it lol.. not that my car is that fast but just faster than many others in the same class

They're used to be a Seat Malaga in my Street back at my folks, the owner had swapped the letters round to make it say " Slag Meat " Used to PMSL whenever I saw it! LOL!!!
