Looking forward to it

Looks v nice :)

Strange isn't it how certain cars get a reputation for being "gay" or "hairdressers"?

I went out in an auto Merc SLK 200 the other night, really nice to drive quite quick too and the handling was pretty good. It would give most on here a good run for their money too (as a nice man near Leeds in a black Fabia found out last night - from the smoke it was remapped, but still slower). The great thing about driving a girl's car is that girls like it which is great if you are on the pull :D Oh and Wednesday night is student night in Barnsley ;)

Blokes cant pull off driving a cabrio, it's just one of those things.

I've seen a few round here, with huge bmw 6 series soft tops. It's just not right.

M6 cab? SL55AMG? 911 Turbo cab?

Admittedly the owner of the SLK I drove is a bit of a mincer ;) and the one I'm picking up next weekend in Germany is the other half's car but I actually enjoyed driving it - I think it is the feel good factor, the wind in what's left of my hair :D and the fact that it ain't a saloon rep mobile type thing.

Oh and you can drive them hard - I managed to pretty much set fire to the brakes judging from te smoke and fumes coming off them, oh and the people on the pavement pointing at the front wheels when we got backj to Barnsley

Not disputing anything you have said there, but you will have just looked like a quick gay driver, with your "partner" sat next to you. :D

Funny you should say that; most comments were cool car, only 1 person said "gay car".

I think if either myself or my "partner" (nobcheese ;) ) had got out of the car they would have changed their minds about the gay bit

I must admit, there is a guy locally with a new slk, it has SLR style wheels on. It does look good, really good. My eyes are always drawn to it when he is about.

He has no hair too, so doesnt look as "gay" as perhaps a man with say..... blonde highlights

The J-Spec badges are gorgeous' date=' and they replaced them with Toyota badges   fool.

I am after the J-spec badges myself.[/quote']

gay-spec badges?? :confused::rofl:

That's not that bloke that wears that pink and white stripe shirt is it?

I think I may have seen him too ;):D

Hi

Good choice! Been driving mine as often as I get the chance since getting it a few weeks ago. Great fun around the lanes. Handling is pretty tyre sensetive, so changing wheels may not be a wise thing to do unless you research it well. You need to go for light weight wheels and tyres with this sort of car and they are not cheap.

If it is a hairdressers car I am OK as I have less hair than Trevor Sorbie.

If it is a gay car, wtf, I like it anyway. I can own one just fine. Some may give blokes hassle about owning one, or not be comfortable owning one though, particularly those that are a little insecure because of their repressed latent tendencies     :sofahide:
