Think that may be a typo…

Featured Replies

It’s looks like now would be a good time to order a new Karoq, spot the typo…

This is currently on the Škoda (UK) website.

I'm being a bit thick as I don't get the typo. 🤷‍♂️

Surely last month was the best time as it was 0% finance, and 25% off a service plan?

Check out the their contribution towards the finance deposit 😉

Told you I was thick! 🙄

Not a good time with only a one pound and fifty pence deposit contribution!

Clumsy typo

But the real comedy is at 9.9%, the example I tried 1.0tsi manual SEL with metallic paint over 4 years comes up as £29,040, total amount payable £35,510.87

So joke is they give you £1500 contribution, they then charge £6470 interest

If that is an offer, then what would be Skoda idea of a bad deal

But it’s actually £15k towards deposit. Wonder if they will honour it!!

Yup, not exactly a generous offer!

Go for it! 😄

If anyone thinks £1,5000 is the same as £15k then perhaps they need to visit Specsavers.  :D

It's an "Offer to treat" not a contract.

Absolutely.

In mathematical terms it is £1.50, one pound fifty pence, as is £1.500, £1.5000, £1.50000000 etc, the additional zeros are superfluous and do not alter the value.

There's no decimal point though. Specsavers for who?

Comma or decimal point does it make a difference?

As for Specavers, I have lost the vision of one eye through 5 seperate detached retinas and glaucoma and have significant problems with the other eye, I am going to have cataract surgery soon but it carries a risk of total blindness if anything goes wrong as I no longer have the other eye to fall back on.

On a computer screen or keyboard I cannot make out the difference between a comma and a decimal point or an insect on the screen, if it moves around its the latter.

In the UK it tends to make a difference.

If it’s a comma it’s for thousands if a full stop it’s decimal.

I was only suggesting it could read as 15k, can’t believe they would go with it though.

Do what I did, take the cash assistance, then pay off the loan straight away! There is no penalty to do this. I had £3.5k towards mine and paid it off a couple of weeks later to avoid most of the interest. Bizarrely if I had paid cash in full at the time I would not have got anything off at the time.

In mathematical terms it's nonsense. £1,5000 is completely meaningless.

Doesn't stop people seeing what they want to see or believing what they want to believe tho.

Now if had been the old Italian Lira rather than pounds, it could safely be rounded off to the thousandth digit. Back in the 70's, I remember going in to a Pescara chemist, paying in Lira and being handed sweets rather than money in change. What an economy that was! :D

Do you agree with that?

If so then what would £1,5000 read as to you?

Would it not then have to be £15,000 or £1,500,0 but with an additional 2 numerals?

I may indeed misread the comma for a decimal point but to add to the confusion and give myself some justification in France a comma is used for the decimal point!

It's a typo.

No more, no less.

Find some joy in your lives guys.

I will when I can get over that bloke who said I need to go to Specsavers!

Actually, the majority of European countries use the decimal comma.

I thought they might but was only speaking of where I live.
