Problem unlocking boot lid - Skoda Octavia 66 plate

Featured Replies

Only today I noticed my boot lid was not unlocking when the main button was pressed on the key fob (the button that unlocks the whole car). If I use the button in the key fob for unlocking the boot it works fine. I thought it might be a problem with the battery in the key fob but there are no indications of this.

This boot is one you open manually.

Has anyone had a similar problem and if so how did they resolve it? I would be grateful for any suggestions or comments

How many doors open with a single 'unlock' press?

All 4 doors are unlocking with a single press

Chances are your boot handle has had the internal micro switch fail.

If you are interested and its the 'rectangular' shape boot handle/button, then i do have a bunch for sale.

Fairly straight forward to change DIY as well.

It happened to me as well. I just had mine replaced with an used one and everything is back to normal. very easy to replace.

Many thanks for the responses on this.I’ve taken photo of the boot handle. Hopefully this has uploaded ok.

Could you please confirm this is the part you’re referring to?

Also if this handle is at fault why is the boot unlocking using the middle button on the key fob?
