iV recuperation settings changed in behind the scenes software update?

Featured Replies

Any other iV drivers noticed this? Not sure when as had 2 ‘quiet’ updates in the last month. Used to have e-drive and could adjust 3 levels if I remember rightly, now it says on/auto/off, that’s all. Having said that, I think it’s behaving the same when driving…. Wonder what auto is?

Hello,

Indeed I also noticed this one. For my case however (Lisbon, Portugal), this was done when I dropped my Octavia iV for a major software update (to solve the Navigation settings not saving issue).

Tbh I don't notice changes to the recuperation - previously I had mine to "High" and now I have it to "On". I believe they should be the same... but not 100% sure. Would like also to know further...

Cheers

Bouncing this one as after a service I noticed that the car wasn't recuperating as heavily as before I left it in and when I went looking for the setting I couldn't find it again.

So now I just have Automatic, On and Off. Like with the OP the car manual still points to the E-Drive setting so that hasn't been updated to reflect the reality.

Anyone know why we don't get the option to set the recuperation level anymore?

Not sure what is the real reason behind, but I think Skoda did some bad decisions with this car. Say, not letting us control the force of regen could be a marketing thing, since Superb has to be more expensive, and that is one of very few things differentiating it. But at least they could give an option to use full available regen on demand, which now can be done only via cruise control. Switching regen on with gear paddle also does not make any sense, since it gives very weak regen but overrides any other logic, like following the car in front or adjusting speed in front of intersection. Idk, the car could be way smarter and comfortable to drive if these small things were fixed. So I was surprised too when even in the settings they removed an option to choose at least default mode of regen, like it wasn't great already but became even worse.

Yeah, I preferred the older settings, I've actually had to adjust my driving style as I was used to the car slowing by itself stronger and I would often be able to do one pedal driving, whereas now I feel like the car will run on a bit too quickly.
