TDi warranty recall - 90C4

Featured Replies

I took my Octy into Loders Skoda in Yeovil this morning to have work done and the told me there was a warranty recall - 90C4 on it (issued 3rd Aug, 2001), but then the Skoda Desktop would not tell them anything about it.

Car is a 2001 TDi 110 estate.

Anyone know what this is?

Cheers,

Matt

What is the rear wiper may snap off at speed one?

No idea, but a bit concerend as I have the model car.

Could it be the DM Flywheel?

The term 'Recall' is often mis-used/interpreted. Recalls are for faults that are deemed serious from a safety point of view and are implemented by the manufacturer using the vehicle registration database, and it is these that show up on the linked sites of this topic. For non safety critical defects the manufacturer usually issues a bulletin and list of affected vehicles for the 'Essential workshop Work' to be carried out when the vehicle is on a scheduled (service or other repair) visit to a dealer, they are not specifically re-called for that work.

Which is why dealer servicing does offer more than non franchised servicing as they dont have this info to hand.

However my Skoda dealer was then unable to work out what they were meant to be doing....!!!

Just rung customer services and they say they can't find it as it is too old, which probably explains why it was not showing the Skoda Desktop either. They are going to look into it and get back to me.

Appears to be for the re-programming of the dash panel and needs to be performed by an area manager.

Does thing ring any bells? Skoda did not want to tell me any more details!

I remember. It is to do with the possibility of the speedometer reading under (the odometer is not affected), we had all of ours booked to come in on the same day at 30 minute intervals and the technical representative (who, I last heard now works for Jaguar) did them from a laptop.

Send your speeding fines to Skoda.

IIRC is reads over doesnt it?

So you wouldnt get any speeding tickets.

It is a very old one, to be honest there werent that many cars on it iirc.

I am fairly sure that they were reading under (which they are not allowed to do by law), as some of our customers were reasoning that the odometers were also reading under and more or less implying that the big bad dealer (stealer as some of the less informed people on this forum use) had been clocking their cars by this underhanded dodgy software method.

According to tomtom in my car, at about 30mpg the speedo is spot on, but at about 60 indicated, tomtom shows about 55. I think around 80 indicated is 72 by tomtom.

I assumed it must be mileage related as it needed an area manager, although Loders say they can do it without the area manager!
