Sounds like it's had a replacement turbocharger unit fitted...

However, I cannot see power output jumping to 220-230 hp with just a new turbo fitted unless software (map) was altered also? :confused:

The ad reads like a private ad, but the car is photographed on a dealer forecourt.

The whole ad is fishy to me. Like the part that tries to make out that the CD changer was fitted as an extra.

Either the seller is a bullshiner or knows nothing apart from what the old owner told them

Torque and top speed quoted are standard - but the new turbo has apparently hiked the power by 40-50bhp and dropped the 0-62 time from 7.9 to 6.4 secs. :rubchin:

Dealer trying to pretend he's not (which is illegal unless it really is his personally registered car) I think. And badly at that.

I'm tempted, just to see the parcelfarce guy try to deliver it !

I asked him how sure he was of the power figures he quoted, what make and model turbo had been fitted, and what mods needed to be declared to the insurer. His reply:

simple answer, i am not. i brought it from a skoda garage 11 months ago and the turbo had just been fitted i was told when i brought it this is what it should be putting out so i arranged for it to go on an airstrip to do the 0-60 times as it produced 6.4 at best i had no reason to question them as we had another black one same age doing 7.6. i am sorry i cant be more help but if you have anything else i will do my best to answer it.

I would take the ad with a big pinch of salt.

the dealers pictured in the background looks like thompson and thompson near Chepstow near the severn bridge (Seat showroom) used to be a skoda dealer

That will be funny. You will get a little card through your door saying that you have a delivery that is too big to fit through your letter box. You will have to go and collect it from the post office. You will need one big jiffy bag for that.
