Alarm going off 30 seconds after locking...

Recommended Posts

Hia, I have the octavia mk3 and about 30 seconds of locking the alarm goes off (not all the time, maybe 50 %) .

I've noticed it only does this if I leave and lock the car straight away. If I get the toddler out and put shopping away it rarely goes off. If I open and lock the car again it generally doesn't go off again...

It doesn't go off straight away and seems to be arming OK.

What would cause this? Is there something I can check at home?

Basically it's an intermittent fault with a small degree of consistent trend.

Is there something that happens on the car in that first minute that could cause this like circuits shutting down or parts cooling?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated and welcome 🙂

Cheers Nigel

Could something be flapping around inside the car? The only false alarms I've had have been due to a moth flapping around in the car overnight and setting off the internal movement sensor.
