alarm keeps going off even when driving

Featured Replies

Hi all - I have a 2011 Skoda Fabia Estate Auto and love my car. However recently I have had an issue with the alarm randomly going off. The indicators are NOT flashing like they normaly would when the alarm activates and even when I unlock and relock the car the alarm continues. It even continues when I start and drive the car and then will eventually stop. Have also noticed that the alarm does not slund very loud to the point that sometimes it even isnt noticeable if you are inside the house. Is there a way to disable it completely as its such an old car and to be honest the alarm is more of a nuisance. Any advice would be most gratefully received. Its very stressful that it happens just randomly

you can disconnect the siren, or better uncoding the alarm via vcds (also the low loudness is due probably to an old siren battery), however the first thing I would suggest to try is to switch off the volumetric system using the switch on thr b pillar, and see if it keep doing it.

Hi thanks how do I do that ? It’s randomly still

Going off and is a little louder than before

I think its the switch on the drivers door pillar below where seatbelt is. It disables the interior sensors so you can leave a dog etc in car.

Thanks .. I think the best option would be to just disconnect the actual alarm as we can still lock car . Does anyone know how I can do this ? Don’t mind not having a siren .. less stressful than it randomly going off any time of day or

Night

Folks old mk1 fabia was the same. Alarm would go off randomly probably due to failing siren battery. My local garage disabled it but not sure how. With yours being newer may need VCDS to disable it. You could try removing fuse for alarm but knowing skoda it probably is connected to other systems. Read on here that its fuse 54 15amp but it may be different on yours.

Ditto here for our O2 estate t the time. Our Indy simply disabled it by cutting the wires to the alarm unit on the bulkhead behind the front wing; direct, but effective.
