Popping then sos down. Any fix?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I have got a 21 plate Octavia and once a day or so there is a bottle type crunch sound then usually the sos has an error and the infotainment system crashes.

I have seen a few other people have had this problem but I was wondering if there is a solution that has been found yet please?

I do have an update which I am going to do in the next few days. I don't know if it will help but worth a try.

The pic below is the current info on what software is running if that helps?

Try reading infotainment system restarting thread.

You may need to do a couple of firmware updates and/or get your dealer to do a hardware replacement as well as the firmware update.

I had similar issues a while back, dealer replaced the SOS unit under warranty.

Yeah thanks, I was thinking this might be needed.

The guy whose car it said the warranty is expired. But I will keep my fingers crossed for a solution.

I'm afraid I don't know where that leaves you in regard to component replacement or firmware updates, I suspect that they may be chargeable items at a dealer, you could possibly try an independent skoda garage to see if they would be able to do it for you at a reasonable price

Not sure how the warranty has expired? My 70 Plate is under warranty until Nov, so 21 plate should be Mar next year.....

I had this prolem for a long time. I think it was due to changing phone signal to the SIM. It dodn't happen everywhere, mainly just in Greaterr London area. But now seems fixed, had a relative flurry of OTA software updates. Which I assume fixed it.

At least in the Nordics, it's caused by the eSIM changing between 3G and 4G. Once the operator handling Skoda's connections in your country shuts down their 3G network, the pop pop issue will most likely be gone. The problem has disappeared for me since the operator shut down their 3G network for good.
