Unable to import phone contacts

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I have a 2015 Rapid and recently changed from an Android phone to an iPhone14. I am unable to import phone contacts to add favourite numbers.

I have never used SmartLink so far as would need to purchase an activation code and wonder if the hardware may be too old or if the firmware would need/could be upgraded (though no option for upgrades show on the portal, other than updating the maps).

Any suggestions would be appreciated for how to import phone contacts and if firmware could be updated or if SmartLink code would be worthwhile purchasing?

photo attached shows system info. There is also the unit in the glovebox with 2 SD card slots.

Thanks, Ian

i don't think Smart link is needed for the phone to work for calls.

If you have changed phone you may need to remove the old ones details first

Here is the manual

watch for prompts on the phone as well as the unit whilst pairing

I have a 2016 Superb and iPhone 12.
If I connect my phone with a cable via usb i have the option of connecting via Apple Car Play on the infotainment system.

Without a cable the phone connects to smart link via Bluetooth. Either way Bluetooth needs to be activated and your phone paired.

If memory serves me right, after connecting my phone my contacts were downloaded automatically.

Maybe rebooting your phone may clear any glitches?

Apologies if I’m stating the obvious.

Hope you sort it.

Thanks for the replies folks, and for including the link to the manual. Deleted profiles, phones and reinstalled from scratch and it’s now working for showing contacts and adding favourites 👍
