Ferrari F50

Featured Replies

We held a small families open day at work a few weeks back. One of the guys at work is in the Ferrari owners club, and he invited a few to have a stand at the show. They raffled tickets to give people a chance to have rides in a Testorossa, a 360CS & an F50, around the airfield.

The tickets were drawn and unfortunately I did not win. But the cars had to go round the track to get to the start point. The owner of the F50 invited me to get in for the 3/4 trip round the track. So I only had a short trip in it, whilst he was warming up the engine, but what a short trip. The noise, the vibrations, the smell of the brakes, awesome. :D We easily touched 165mph without even trying, and then it was all over too soon. I got out & let the winner get in.

The driver then floored it all the way up the main straight leaving 2 huge black strips in the tarmac & topped the car out in top before the first corner, well over 200mph. Again, awesome to see

:wrthless: or a video:

Seriously tho' I'm not jealous.............honest!

Its always nice to hear that cars of that caliber do get some stick and get driven like they were meant to

Shame it wasn't and F40 TBH but still and experience! :)

Have you ever tried one of those race day experiences. Did it last year at Silverstone in Audi TT 3.2V6 and Lotus Elise.

The truth is you dont get long - about 8 laps max - but the ride with the instructor/race driver is mental. It cost

Sardinia two years ago at a Dental conference, Ferrari club meeting at same hotel, tried dozens, private owners very accomodating and only too glad to show off their cars.

Schumies F1 car was in the Hotel Foyer...no keys in though:mad:
