How long ago did you update your map to 23.12?  I think the maps on the Skoda website changed around May or June of this year which might also give a clue.

It may be around that time when i updated the maps, but i cant be sure 😞

 

When our car went to the dealer last week, they updated the infotainment system to 1941 and the navigation database to 24.8. It was done under warranty because of Infotainment system crashes (previously on 1804) and because the maps were stuck on 20.7.

piggy backing off this, are there radio logos for Australia? 

I have received OTA update of the maps and now it says 24.10

I am trying to find out if this is the latest map version online for everyone, or it depends on the VIN. The map version  that you received OTA is newer than the one that i see on the site.

I just updated my infotainment to 1985 from 1896 yesterday. My maps were 19.7, today I ran the USB update using the latest D/L from the Skoda portal (as pictured above) yet it's only brought me up to 23.12

 

I think it could be that you need an active subscription to receive further updates, although obviously I'm not sure. Seems strange that the latest update only took me up to version 23.12 though....

Seems to backup my experience with the maps from the portal.  I was on 23.12 (from when I had a subscription last year) and haven’t been able to update, via USB, beyond that.  I suspect what they make available on the portal for free runs behind, in terms of versions, compared to what’s available on paid for subscription.  There may possibly be a new update on the portal available before year end.

Is there any way of telling when the update is actually complete? Or is it just when it displays the newer version number? Mine seemed to update quite quickly that's all (as in showing it had changed to 23.12) but I haven't yet took out the usb drive just in case it's still running in the BG

It looks like Skoda has uploaded a new map database to the portal for download. I believe they update the portal twice a year, and I guess it runs one version behind the updated version that is available to subscribers who receive it OTA.

I have download this it three days ago, but I had allready in car ver24.10
Even I have plug usb-c with unpacked maps, but nothing happens, as we are now in 48 week of 2024. Its same as 24.10 mark but I uploaded it half year ago…so old maps from portal for my vin.

On another hand im still subscriber for next 30 days so who knows maybe i will catch something with 25.05 if it exists🤪

Downloaded the new file (..EU_202448..) and installed the new maps.  The display now shows Navigation Database 24.06.

Previously on 23.12.

I left the car switched on with the keys (if is off the road and in front of the study where I was sitting) and checked after about 45 minutes.  You need to switch off and then on again before the display shown the new version.

In ver24.10, number 10 is for month, right?

Yes.  Your version is October 2024.  The free download version is now June 2024.

I just took out a free trial of infotainment online and it's updated my map database to 24.10 However, now my nav is stuck on daylight all the time, which is quite blinding when you're driving in the dark. 

 

I can manually switch it to night mode, but on the auto setting it stays on Day 24,/7. Any ideas...? 💡 🤔

I've read through this topic (found it via a google search before I registered) but for me the USB update isn't working. 

I bought a used 2021 Octavia Estate Mk IV SE-L last November.  Initially, the built-in SatNav was working fine, but with out of date maps.

As soon as I got home from buying the car, I went to the Skoda update portal, entered my VIN,  downloaded and unzipped the file to a 64GB USB drive and stuck it into one of the USB-C slots in the centre console just in front of the gear stick.

The built-in Sat Nav immediately stopped working - I assumed it was doing its map updates and would come back once the updates had completed.  That was in November.  The USB drive has not been removed from the slot since.  I've driven the car on a few 3hr plus journeys, which judging by others comments on this forum should be plenty of time for it to do its thing, but the  built-in Sat Nav still won't start. 

If I look on System Info, the Map Database version is a blank.

I think the update has failed somehow.  There have been no error messages, and there's no progress indicator, just the SatNav permanently shows "Please wait...." and a green revolving circle.

 

I've been into the secret engineering menu (hold the Menu button for 5secs and select UPDATE), but the two USB options are both greyed out. 

Anyone know how to get the map database to re-install/reload please?

I have a New Zealand spec mk4 VRS in the UK, I can't get access to the UK maps, when I enter the VIN it only offers up Australian and New Zealand maps.

 

Anyone fancy messaging me with their VIN (of a UK car) so I can't download the UK maps please
