Sending routes to the Karoq

Featured Replies

I've been trying to use the Trip Planner in Skoda Connect on my computer to send routes to the Columbus system on our Karoq. Although the app says it has sent the route, I see no sign of it later in the car. Same lack of result if I try it with the maps section of the MySkoda app on my phone. I understand that when it works, then on starting up a message is displayed asking if you want to use the route. Is there a setting somewhere maybe that enables this feature? Other remote features in the app such as the remaining range, status of the doors and lights or driving data work fine.

It should work as long as you have an active subscription.

However the Nav is still rubbish and you are far better off using Google Maps or Waze.

Just checked and Infotainment Online is definitely active which seems to be the service that allows online route import.

I find the nav tricky to control but otherwise fine in providing directions and I like that it is "built in". Really don't like Google maps anyway, and never tried Waze.

I've used it myself, but it only sends the destination to the car - after a delay, and sometimes the Skoda servers lose it.

When you turn the ignition on, you get a message saying the car has received the destination, and then choose to navigate to it, save it or discard it.

I think the promise of being able to send the complete route to the car is still in development. And with VAG having moved on to MIB4, it may well never get delivered!

Indeed, MIB4 will be taking up significant resource with the issues it was launched with.

One of the reasons I wanted a MIB3 car this year that along with physical knobs for Climate.

Didn't know about the new MIB4 version. Is it possible that the MIB3 Columbus will be upgradable to MIB4 or is 4 tied to new hardware?

The only time I used this, the route took 2 hours before being received in the car. I was 5 mins away from my destination at the time!

It's Android Auto and Google Maps every time for me now. It 'just works'. Keep meaning to try Waze but I know Google's foibles so well It does the job for me. If I check a route beforehand on my PC then the destination's there in Recent Destinations as soon as Google Maps starts.

MIB4 is on the new models. Current Octavia and new model Kodiaq and Superb on the MQB EVO platform.

Same for me. I do the same, often checking on the route, hold-ups etc before starting my journey. If the mobile signal was just a little better though... Google Maps let me down for a while yesterday so I had to switch to the built in sat nav. I had a more "interesting" journey down little used roads, farm tracks, roads with grass growing in the middle. To shave off a nano-second of precious time.

Coverage in parts of Wales is patchy.
