1. Practise using the throttle.

2. Buy grippier tyres.

Rob.

Ahem

You surely mean ONE hundred and seventy five BHP, not 275?

275 would be impressive from a 1.9TDI block. :D

Oh, one Q - How did you manage to get insured on a chipped vRS Fabia after just passing your test? - That's gotta be expensive! :D

Controlling traction when chipped - comes with practise - best advice is do not boot it whilst taking a decent bend, because all that happens is the wheels start to lose grip and you stop going round the bend, heading straight on... :nono:

In a straight line - just boot it and let the traction control do its thing - that's what its there for and you'll only accelerate as quick as the conditions will let you, and the traction control knows this.

My advice, turn the traction control off and learn to drive by feel rather than relying on the namby pamby electronics.

Let me guess, its a Revo remap on it?

If it is Revo remap, then I imagine it's a lot more peaky and will cause more traction trouble than a Jabba one.

Jabba has caused me barely any traction problems at all, compared to what I had before. Just the ability to get to 60, 3 seconds quicker. :D

dory, welcome to the site.

So, what mods for that figure (bhp and

Is it me, or can I smell something?

Colin, will you have a look at the IPs to see who this might be?

Who'll open a book? :D

Who cares who it is? I'm accepting it at face value.

Still want to know the torque figure and the mods for the

I'm looking forward to seeing where this thread goes. Maybe he *has* got 275hp and has just passed his test. Some people do have more maney than they know what to do with...

As an example to highlight this (and hijack the thread! ) a friend of mine recently sold his 360 Modena. He just wasn't getting the use out of it to justify the cost of ownership. Anyway, this dude buys it as a birthday present for his 25 year old son!!

I suspect that I may not be here today if I had been given a car like that when I was 25... I just hope the recipient doesn't take anyone else with him. Might be worth keeping an eye on wrecked exotics for a silvery bluey 360...

Anyway, back to the 275 HP Diesel...

fair point Jon, lets not be harsh.....

lets here the list of mods.. i suspect 1.8t transfer with nice ecu/pipe/ic.

I'm still confused how 275 BHP can be achieved from a 1.9 diesel engine at all - even with

Waiting

First it was 275bhp from chipping then it appears there are some other mods and he's asking if the power increase should be declared ( ) and the posts are largely unpunctuated and he's only just passed his test all of which makes me thinks.gif

Time to take my 2 Staffies out to see if we can catch any rats. :)

First post he said "chipped" to 275.

Then he said it cost four and a half grand.

That's one mighty effin chip!

Waiting....

;)

My Staffies have tipped me about checking who else is online when dory next posts...... :Cat:

Perhaps another Mod would like to move this to the Lounge pending clarification...

Just a thought guys.

Grand Turismo 4 has the Fabia vRS in it.

Trail versions are floating around so perhaps that could be the explaination fro these claims or am I being stupid??

Something fishy going on ?

I reckon the iridium spark plugs help with the figures :D

It is possible to get that figure out of a 1.9TDI, especially a PD. However, you need to do a lot of work (which accounts for the

Still waiting...

...it'll be Christmas before we find out any facts at this rate.

The anticipation is killing me! :D

I must admit that a 1.9 diesel engine putting out that kind of power....? I can't see it going 120K miles in it's life.

Could you imagine the level of smoke? :D

Also - thinking about the claimed 4.8 second time to 60... Will a diesel ever go that quick? I mean they're geared so you need to change gears at least twice which soaks up a lot of time (whereas the octy vRS can reach 60 in 2nd) I'm still dubious but would be happy to be put right.

If it's true, why has no-one ever mentioned tuning TDIs to this extent before on here, ever!
