Crankshaft sensor error

Featured Replies

I have a problem with my superb 170 hp 4x4. Car starts fine. Sometimes when after having driven a while I try to restart it turns over and dies, I get the coil light and engine warning symbol. oB11 scan showed P001600 intermittent camshaft position correlation bank 1 sensor A.

Still happening after replacing sensor. Anyone got any thoughts or next steps?

Im struggling with the same issues, 2011 Suuperb MK11 Elegance Estate. Also replaced Crankshaft Sensor & Cam positioning sensors, can reset the fault codes, car drives as normal but after 10m minutes or so engine light comes back on, same fault codes. Dont know where to go next with trouble shooting issue

UPDATE

Despite having been replaced 60k miles previously I replaced the timing belt. I wanted it checked and to do so is most of the way to changing it anyway....it was half a tooth out ..it appears this may have resolved the issue...good luck bdk.

Sounds like a similar situation to being 'a bit pregnant'. 😁

Ha-ha, you know that they are bullshi**ing or idiots when they come out with stuff like that!

What its likely to be is due to a build up of tolerances or possibly a skimmed cylinder head the timing marks wont align, moving the belt one tooth puts the mark out by the same amount but on the opposite direction, which one is right? You might see that its slightly closer in one position and choose that with perhaps just over a 50% chance of being right or you do a heads or tails!

The problem for the committed mechanic is that the engine will seem only a tiny bit flat if at all, only the owner could tell any difference and only then if they had mechanical sympathy and neural connections with the engine.

I have bought a couple of second hand cars cheap with the problem, they both had recently had cam belts replaced and the owners were not convincing when asked why they were selling, they drove flat to me but I could not be sure even though one, a Suzuki SJ410 I had already owned an example, given the cam belt changes it was worth a look, both times the timing marks were 50/50, both times moving it one tooth made the engine far more peppy.

Hey, I am very late to this but I recently encountered this issue. It might be to do with the part in the below below. I recently chnaged timing belt, cam sensor, crankshaft sensor but it was to do with part mentioned in the below link

Ive replaced all Sensors etc, so for the cost of the camshaft adjuster valves x 2, I might as well change these as well. Picture 2 of 4

has anyone done this job previously? I cant see eternally how to remove the old ones after disconnecting the electrical connectors

Sorry, I got a mechanic to do it but I am sure there are videos available on how to do this.
