Skoda karoq seat panel

Featured Replies

Having recently taken delivery of a second hand karoq, there seems to be some nice marks on the front passenger seat lower panel. Does anybody know how to get rid of them by any chance. Dealer not interested.

Once that hard plastic is scuffed it’s game over I think…..

Ok thank you. No wonder dealer didn't want to know. Then has the cheek to ask why I didn't give them 5* for the service I received as they had an email from head office saying they had a negative rating

That's right. There are 'detailing' products for plastic but the improvement would be very slight.

One could have insisted on a replacement part before concluding a deal (or walking away) but not afterwards. But the part is available. I see one on eBay for £44, though as it's used, it  is likely to have some scratches of its own.  I'd be going to TPS, the supplier of VAG parts, for a price on a new one.

That's when you walk. They will come after you unless they have a queue of buyers.

Besides the scratches on the seat base did you get your desired Karoq model at the top middle or bottom of your price range? Ie with all the extras etc.  If it was cheaper perhaps the dealer's profit margin was so narrow due to pricing. Otherwise you may have declined the deal. I wonder if dealers have an internal customer rating index...I.e. Don't sell to so and so, it's not worth the hassle.

Tbh I had traded in a kamiq due to circumstances beyond my control so really needed to get this vehicle asap so I have taken it on a 3yr PCP and will put it back in and get what I really want and from a different dealer when it is possible.

This is the vehicle I purchased

You could try gentle application of heat with a heat gun...   I've done that before on a honda civic and it worked wonders

You might be able to improve it a bit. I’ve found some of the vinyl trim sprays can disquise scuffs, grey shoe cream can also  help hide scuffs too.

Looks like you are missing the aero wheel trims as well.  They come as standard but are not to everyone's tastes.  I took them off my 2022 Karoq so the wheels look like yours in the picture.  Maybe the previous owner removed them and didn't offer them back when they traded in.

Not missing I took them off as there is a nice alloy underneath those terrible trims

These can be purchased for around  £56 from dealers or LLL Parts, shouldn't be too hard to change...👍

Local dent repair operatives can refurbish this type of plastic, don't know how the cost compares to buying new.
