Frequent dpf regens

Not sure it was just the cheapest white one. It can be used with other apps, without a subscription.

I only get a subscription the odd time if I need it, is handy to keep. I replaced my battery and needed it for coding it, sonid keep onto it.

Just jumping in on this topic, I get a Regen roughly every 250km. But looking at my VAGDPF results I have a negative reading for measured soot mass. Anyone got any insight on this?

What app and equipment do you need to get this information. I see there are apps. But do you need something to plug into the car?

Thanks

Adrian.

Which Carista adapter do you have?

I bought one for €13 from Amazon a few months ago but don't want to pay for the subscription.

I was going to sell it but if I could use it as a Bluetooth OBD adapter this would be cool...

Have you manually selected an engine group in the app and did you pick the correct one? As when it's in auto for mine I don't get that panel populated

Yeah, I have 2 options for my engine. The other doesn't give any results. (DFHA 190)

The DeltaP sensor is connected by pipes to the entry and exit of the DPF to measure how the air is flowing through it.

This pressure will vary at different engine speed, injection quantity & DPF soot level.

I am going to start using your name for the sensor, its correct and much less to type than what I have used up to now - "differential pressure sensor"  which was also confusing as it needed to be proceeded with DPF to avoid misleading people into thinking it meant the transmission differential.

Delta P it will be then, if only I knew how to type Greek letters!

You can also name it the dP sensor but be careful talking about it in hearing of your wife. ;)

i have a similar situation where the regens are triggered by calc soot so my tuner told me i either have a super clean dpf or somebody has driven a hole through it or damaged . i have finished a regen at that level but 8.5 is high and it was a trip where i couldn't get a decent run , the last regen finished at 5.5grams  (i was on the a30 and a long uphill section) that gives me 300 miles to the next one btw my egr valve has been mapped out

Message for JR

∆ is the symbol for delta - on my keyboard it's option + J

Nice and easy !

No workie!

I think you need to explain in more detail what keys you actually press in what order or simultaneously to create the character.

Intrigued also, I thought he meant the 'options key' also known as 'Alt?' AND 'J' but this doesn't work for me either so who knows, maybe this is some sort of Apple keyboard trickery🤮???

I would like to ask you, did you find the cause of the problem?

I have a similar problem, 2016 crtdi Superb regenerates every 60-100 km. The process goes fine, the calculated shoot mass goes down from 19 to around 5 (checked with Carista).

No never got to the bottom of it. Iv done a few 300km runs where it only re gened once. So I am thinking due to my change in driving pattern over the summer of lots of very short trips and no long trips it was just more obvious as it was regening every 5days. Now my driving in pattern has gone back to normal it's only every 2-3 weeks, but still a similar distance. Prior to the summer I don't know how far it was between regens so it may not have changed and was only more obvious due to my driving pattern change.
