Just noticed a leak under my car. Have not had a chance to find out where from yet. It looks to be coming form directly between the battery and air filter. Any idea whats there? Have to jack her up when i get home this evening.:eek:

well i did think it was the air con but when you see a pool of water under my car i get worried. Thanks for the info. I can now at least get some work done and not worry.

Lance, it's not actually a leak, but frost/condensation dripping off the chiller for the aircon. Perfectly normal behaviour for any car with it.

I am fully aware of this, but how could you offer an explanation without knowing if it's water or oil leaking?

It not oil. Well does not smell of anything, and i wont taste it in case any one asks. Must be the air-con.

I thought the "aircon leak" was further back, in line with the back of the engine compartment, drivers side. The leak described is between battery and air filter so not sure.

Taste it! That's what I always do

Obviously water, petrol or diesel will evaporate from the ground where oil wont
