Kodiaq 2023 heated steering wheel retrofit

Featured Replies

Hi all. New to this forum.

I have just bought a kodiaq 2023 Sportline diesel 4x4.

I'm sure this has been discussed before. But the thread seems to have gotten lost in to a different Skoda model. Here the question.

Will someone know the clock spring (squib) part number for the kodiaq that supports the heated steering wheel?

I have sourced a heated steering wheel and the kufatec harness. Just not sure about the clock spring.

Sorry, can't help with your question but you're in the wrong section. This is for the mk 2 and yours will be a mk 1.

No. Mk 1.5 if anything. Mk 2 is the all new model unveiled last year and open to order from earlier this year.

Hi,

the highest avaiable for mk1 facelift is combination 5Q1953521LC + 5Q1953589L (heating + ACC/PACC stalks)

You also need replace old 16pin connector and add 2 wires for heating.

New 14pin connector is 5Q0972726

Tested on 2022 FL

Thanks for the information. I have parked up the idea of heated steering wheel for now. I have ordered a squib and the harness. However I got to sort out some other things with it atm.

okay,

BTW if you dont have heated steering wheel and you wants to buy it, if you are using TJA then buy only from MY2023 with KLR software version SW0023 wheels made after 28.11.2022>> the older will show errors!!!

Hi,

Have you done it yet?

How easy is it to remove the airbag?

Hi.

The airbag removal isn't a big deal. Plenty of videos on YouTube showing you how to do it. It's the same for all VW, Skoda cars. Just to be sure disconnect the battery for playing with it. The squib is also standard for VW and Skoda cars. Find one with extra connectors for heated steering wheel. Don't bother with the kufatec kit that's extortionate. I bought mine from ali express and it cost 12 quid. Only thing is you will have to extend the fuse box and earthing wire that doesn't cost as much as a kufatec wiring kit (40ish quid wiring kit and 50ish quid postage). Find steering wheel that fits your car. Confirm if your cruise control etc is on the steering or on the stalk.

I hope above helps

Hi, may I ask which clock spring / slip ring part did you use for this?

It depends on your vehicle's features and year of manufacture.

In my case, 23 Kodiaq RS with everything except Canton and heated wheel. Has a current squib/clockspring part 5Q1 953 569 J.

I’ve done this retrofit on a pre FL Superb but just unsure of the Kodiaq part numbers.

Any help or insights greatly appreciated.

Hallo,
