1.2 tsi 22/60 diesel turbo upgrade

Featured Replies

Hello, i am thinking about swapping a turbo from a 2.5 tdi to my skoda fabia 1.2 tsi cbza. Has anyone done a thing like that of some sort

You want to use a big diesel turbo on a small petrol engine? You haven't really thought this through have you, it's completely unsuitable and will probably permanently damage the 1.2 engine.

Anything is possible , I would get a bolt on solution though rather than using a diesel turbo

Yeah i mean ive talked to the mechanic and he said he will take it on and do it. What turbos do bolt onto the 1.2 tsi that would take it to 180-200 hp tho?

Low boost indeed, you need a better intercooler or you're going to have trouble with detonation, which will wreck your engine.

From what ive seen on the forum the 1.2 tsi has the same intercooler as the 1.4 tsi which is well capable of upto 220 hp

You'll need a lot more boost to make the same numbers with a smaller, less efficient engine, more boost means more heat, more heat means more problems.

I'm wasting my time sharing my experience with you, like most teenagers you already know everything anyway so knock yourself out. Good luck.

With the right intercooler setup will i be able to pull 170hp to 200 hp reliably?

No.

Lmfao yeah i know, but imma still pull everything from this engine. Im looking for a 1.4 tsi tho a tdi turbo really isnt wise and the work isnt worth it. Even tho the mechanic gave me like a quote for 220 for the whole job

Why not just sell what you have & buy a car with 200 bhp and then if all is well splash the cash tuning that.

There are plenty cheap cars around that go, stop and handle better than a tuned 1.2 TSI Mk2 Fabia.

Im in balkan. Import rules are strict cars are expensive and the cars in my country with 300k km are considered low mileage. And i really like my skoda i dont wanna trade it

That kind of thing is worth mentioning, or just show your location so that people might know where the work might be getting done.

You said quoted 220 for the job. Was that you converting to GBP?

In Euros so converted thats like 200 pounds. Originally i didnt know this forum was for Britain only but here i am...

It doesn't matter, the turbos are MUCH more suitably sized and will fit your engine much better.

Im definitely looking for a 1.4 tsi, but theres none here unless i get one used, and thatll cost upwards of 600. But its the right option so imma keep looking
