Skoda Kodiaq MG1CS001 ECU

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I tried to search to find similar issue but I failed in finding one.. I hope someone can help with information.

I have bought Skoda Kodiaq 2.0, make 2018 and it has 133K mileage.

I used it for a week then It broke down with multiple errors such as

- Error : Stabilisation Control (ESC(

- Error : Tyre pressure lose indicator

- Starter System faulty. Please visit workshop.
And the car doesn’t start anymore…

And unfortunately Skoda dealer here has closed so no official support from dealer is available nearby 😞

I went to a workshop and after diagnostic I was told that the ECU is fried need to change it.

I bought used one for the same car, it might have been silly thinking by me that same trim and same car would be plug and play and that is not the case. As I got gateway errors and car won’t start

ECU PN 06L907309B - VAG MG1CS001

is it possible to reset this used ECU and fit it?

Have you experienced something similar any recommendations?

Thanks, appreciate your time.

Welcome.

Maybe @Crasher or @ApertureS will be able to give some advice.

I hope the Fried ECU  diagnosis was correct.  How did that happen?

I have no idea how it got fried.. car was running idle with ac on and then all the sudden it was shutdown and all errors came..

Was the battery checked at that point?

Id be interested to know what they mean by a fried ecu and what tests were done to determine this.

Never really seen an ecu fail without external factors at play.

Would also love to see the specific fault codes that were stored.

regarding replacing with a used ecu, it will store incorrect data so really a virgin ecu should be fitted.

if not, you will still have to run the immobiliser, dataset, adaptions and other routines before it will even consider starting properly

That does sound like a more likely culprit

Yes, voltage was ok. I also went ahead and replaced it with new one but it isn’t the issue

The ECU had no communication, when the used one was fitted communication was ok with autel

Update:

ECU was fixed and programmed.

Issue now air conditioning is not cooling until I drive for couple of kilometers.. and I noticed both radiator fans are not working ..

also acceleration seems heavier than usual.. will have to recheck what’s going on with all of this
