Waiting for my mrs at Chesterfield station last night, standing outside the Octavia cause of the heat. Bloke walks out of station building and we exchange the following...

"Are you booked mate?"

"What? Oh, I'm not a taxi"

"Oh right, I thought 'cause.." (Looks at my car). Then looks me up and down.. "and you look like a taxi driver"

I think this is about the third or fourth time now! Is this a common problem?

Look on the bright side, at least you can wait in the Taxi rank nice and close to the station

Now fair enough, my car looks like a taxi. But I can't remember the last time I saw a 6'7" taxi driver. Actually, I reckon the Superb would be the only car I could drive as a taxi and actually have someone fit behind me.

Yes I had a neighbour ask if i was the taxi he called for as he was running late.

I pointed out that I park my car infront of his every day and that no I wasn't.

I'm 6'5 and there is no way I'm a taxi driver, also I figured the lack of hackney badge and Taxi stickers/sign should really have given it away.

In Glasgow 75% of Octavias are taxis. One of my colleagues had three girls jump in the back of his vRS at the traffic lights just last week.

I often park in the taxi queue at Manchester Airport when I'm picking up my girlfriend in various Octavia demonstartors, I think the dealership decals on the doors add to the effect. Nobody has ever bothered me!

Taxi drivers use dto block me in and all sorts when I had the Astra. As soon as I got the Octavia they just let me wait in the taxi rank.
