Update To Infotainment Version 1985 - Download Link and Guide

Featured Replies

Hello, my Octavia is a 2020 SE Technology and is running version 1806, is it possible to update from this straight to the new version or do I have to update to older versions first, as I realise this is quite an old version?

What improvements does the new version have over the version in my car? Things that annoy me being mainly that the heater controls do not stay in "sync" mode when I turn off the engine, and the system in general is very slow to start up, and I see occasional "flashing" of the display (seems to be the fuel gauge and oil temp gauge either side of the main display).

Is it possible for Google Maps to be displayed via CarPlay on the drivers screen instead of the Infotainment screen with this new version?

Should any of these updates come "over the air" in the UK? as pressing "show all updates" gives a blank screen, or must it be done by USB. I've never been prompted to install an update and have had the car since mid 2023.

Many thanks, Mark.

I think you can make the jump from your current revision, but it may well be better to do it incrementally, first to 1941, 1969 then 1985, just to make sure that there's no unexpected glitches.

Is there any change notes or TPI for the new 1985 update? I am on 1941 and no major issues that I can notice so happy to stay on this unless there is some major changes.

Maybe apply the adage “if it ain’t broken….”.  There are no new features so just under the bonnet changes.  Maybe wait to see if you eventually get offered the update OTA?

Yea thats what i plan to do. But here in Australia we dont get OTA. The infotainment system is a cut down version of EU with many features disabled. When ever i take it for service i have to ask them to update it. A lot of times they say nothing new. I was stuck on 1809 for like 3 years before they updated me to 1941 due to a audio fix that needed to be applied.

Had the car since April 2024 and it came with 1941 installed..... Never had the 1969 update pushed out at any point so I didn't bother installing it myself. Took it in to the local dealership to book in a couple of warranty jobs before the original 3 year warranty ran out at the end of January and the service guy mentioned there was an update due to come out to the car and he was just letting me know and a couple of weeks later it said it wanted to download and install 1985.

Downloaded it whilst travelling to work one morning (Half hour drive) then I nipped out on a break mid morning and set it installing. Came back out at lunch to check and it was all done and ready to go. Driven a good 500+ miles since then and touch wood seems good.

Having only had the car coming up to a year part of me thinks the plan of no more updates really shows my car is already out of date but I suppose it also means they must be happy all bugs have been squashed and I'd hope if something big did come to light another update would be pushed out if required.

Did you install straight from v1810 to v1985 without incremental version builds?

Did you jump straight from 1806 to 1985 or did you update the infotainment system via several intermediate software versions?

I’ve had my 2022 PHEV model for just over a month. It has the following config:

Hardware: H58

Software: 1889

Display unit hardware: H47

Display unit software: 2103

Nav DB: 24.10

I’ve never updated the software on a car before. From looking through the posts, 1889 is pretty old now. Is there a recommended upgrade path from 1889?

I just had the first service under my ownership at the main dealer today. They updated all the software under warranty at my request so I am now running 1985.
