Intense Petrol smell from car hood and inside the cabin with the filter disengaged

Featured Replies

Welp, when the cabin filter is disengaged an intense petrol smell comes in, the fuel filler cap is tightly closed, no petrol smell comes from the exhaust, just the hood and the cabin

Any help?

Ok, 1 info i got, the oil filter support was changed, and the oil was also replaced, may it be a missing o-ring of the oil filler cap? No fuel is leaking visually, just intense smell

No, that would be an oil smell, not a petrol smell.

I really think this injector rail problem is likely to be what is happening here. There are many reports of it, as you'll see if you skim through the linked thread. A number of other threads also cover the same problem.

Modern cars don't smell of petrol.  If they do, then there is a leak. I would not drive the car in that condition.

Check at the front of the engine, on the side opposite the battery - see if there is any fuel dripping near there.

Been there, done that! although in my case, the engine would fire - then immediately shut down.

UPDATE:

When the mechanic replaced the oil filter support, they forgot to plug back a broken fuel junction that THEY broke in the process i just checked the engine bay and found that they taped the tubes togheter, when i called them they told me they taped them because they didnt have enough time to order the new junction! 🤦🏻  Note to future self: never EVER bring my yeti to an official skoda service.
