Did a search but couldn't find much about people upgrading boot lighting in their Karoq.

Just added some extra lighting to the boot. Probably overkill but it's a bit brighter now.

A boot is a place I spend very little time in and  the current detachable torch is more than adequate,

Why not? And the new Karoq doesn't have the detachable torch. 

My Octavia had a light each side which was ample. The karoq just had one on the driver's side which whilst led wasn't the best.

The boot light is not detachable on my late 2021 car, and I suspect it was discontinued earlier.

It started to disappear with model year 2021. So anytime after Skoda did a revamp of the Karoq back in July 2020.

 

I was keen on this detachable flashlight and the manual does still explain its usage in my case, however, there is none anymore since then.

 

To get a better light in my trunk, I've exchanged the previous gloomily bulb with a single LED on the right side, but it is still to dark, especially on the other side.
