superb iv: a few questions..

Featured Replies

howdy

I currently own a 2018 Superb 1.5TSI - I'm considering upgrading to a 2023 or 2024 Superb iV. Got a few questions...

- are there any known issues with the iV?

- my car is parked in a box...5m in length. I've noticed the plug is on the front part of the bar. How many cm the plug adds to the car? will I be &ble to close the box door?

Thanks!

PS any thoughts is welcome indeed!

I also add that the model I've identified is a Sportline with 19'' rims. Should I be worried about comfort? No DCC as far as I know

The comfort on the 19” rims is dependent on the tyres fitted. I had OE Pirelli P7 and they were harsh and noisy. I now have Conti All Season and the harshness and noise have disappeared.

The car I think is 4869 mm. Mine is plugged in at the minute, so I went and measured. The flap open and the handle of the cable adds 160mm past the very front, making a total of 5029mm;  longer than your box. And even that would mean bending the cable more than I'd be happy with anyway.

I reckon no, it won't fit unless you make a hole for the flap and cable.

Maybe your box is actually a  bit bigger than 5m? You need a minimum of 3cm more I would think.

thanks - I'll close the box and measure the remaining distance between my Superb and the door in "real conditions" ;)

That's a tough call..

I'd say that's a no, sorry. But if you can get a test drive if one from a seller or know someone nearby that has one you could try. Where are you?

That is tight indeed ... how far are you in the back? Occasionally I park in a garage - same door as yours! - and I need max space, so I glued a soft panel to the wall, I park as far back as I feel comfortable, then leave the car in Neutral and manually push it until it touches the wall - actually the soft panel. This gives me every cm possible.

Consider I already own a superb...

Anyway, today I was able to test an arteon phev - same length of the superb but the charging door should be longer on the arteon.

I plugged the cable and slightly closed the lid. It works..
