Goodbye Superb, hello Kodiaq

Featured Replies

After nearly 8 years of largely troubled-free motoring in my Superb, the time has come for a change. I have purchased a 22 reg 4x4 L&K 2.0 TDI Kodiaq through HeyCar. Am expecting delivery on Monday afternoon. Have part-ex’d the Superb for what I think was a pretty good price. Can’t wait to get behind the wheel on the ‘new’ beast. First thing I will do is fit my DTUK Pedalbox to it as I would imagine that the Kodiaq’s throttle response will be as sluggish as the Superb’s was. Have booked it in for a towbar fit on the 17th so will be all ready to go when the caravanning season starts!

Congrats on the swap. Hope it goes well!

I trust you have verified the towing capability. I understand that there were some issues with Kodiaks being rated at Zero KG but that might be historic situation but I would want to be certain.

Congrats' I'll follow your thread and your feedbacks, since I'm considering quite the same swap on my side: Superb Mk3 Estate L&K TDI190 4x4 DSG6 to a Kodiaq I FL L&K (or Sportline) TDI200 4x4 DSG7 within the next months.

The hardest will be to find one. It's very rare on the french used car market.

Pretty thin on the ground over here too. Plenty of TSI versions and TDI 150s available but I want the power for towing our caravan. I guess people don’t buy the TDI 190s/200s because of the extra road tax (£190 + £410 ‘levy’) 😢

The Kodiaq arrived Monday afternoon and apart from the tyres, I'm delighted with it. Haven't had the chance to drive it much yet apart from a quick trip to get fuel and a visit to a local pub for an excellent meal to celebrate my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary (about 10 miles tops!).

I've installed my DTUK pedalbox that was in my old Superb and will get to 'test' that tomorrow.

Spent ages this morning trying to get my user profile loaded but no joy. Skoda Connect email and password are correct but I just keep getting an 'Unable to load profile' message so have given up for now.

Compliments on the change, "new" car always feels good. Will be curious to hear opinion on the differences, personally the big K does not call me at all.

Bap, strange you would not be able to get, is been around a few years, I see already many around for sale ....

Nice choice...   Hope you enjoy it.  We've gone from Fabia Comfort estate to Octavia 4x4 and now Kodiaq 4x4 SE.  All great cars in their own way.

I've specced 2022 or later and 60000km as a maximum.

Very easy to find TDI150 on the french market. TDI190 or TDI200 becomes a bit more tricky. But once you spec 4WD... Errrr I've only got 2 alerts in 5 months. 😬 They were both sold before I could ring the seller... 🙄

Otherwise I have to import one from Germany (mainly). But It means equipments or options may be quite different and I will have to pay eco taxes that have not been paid in France when it was sold new... There's only a 10% 'bargain' per year. This way, I may lose the benefit of buying a german Kodiaq a bit cheaper due to all these retroactive taxes...

All sounds very complicated. Hope you can find what you’re looking for

It is always difficult ... I found mine in Czech Republic, after months of search. Now I lust for an old Landy, and in spite of the fact that they are plenty around, there are also none ... interesting problem!
