Attaching a dashcam to the USB C socket by the rear view mirror.

Featured Replies

What brands of dashcam can be connected directly to the USB C socket on the rear view mirror?

I know that a Nextbase GW622 works, it's what I have.

The only issue being that it's a bit of a pain as the mount has a power input that's USB Micro B & the mirror is USB C so you'd need a small adapter which is a couple of quid on Temu, or you may be able to find a USB C to Micro B cable

Any that can be powered by a USB lead/charger. Then just buy a short 25-30cm USB-C to whatever your camera is from Amazon or eBay (I got mine for about a tenner from Amazon) and away you go.

I have a Garmin Mini2 in mine.

I used it with a short 20cm micro to usbc cable no adaptors few quid online to power nextbase 522gw since buying car 6 weeks ago and was fine up until the dashcam itself breaking yesterday after about 2yrs so replaced today with a wolfbox g900 and it also powers that fine full 4k and poss more draining as is a full mirror screen with rear camera too? . I guess that usbc port turns off along with ignition so for wolfbox I have an obd hardwire kit i need to install to be able to use parking mode

I installed the dash cam ordered from China and it works very well. The package also included the power cable. I took power from the camera on the windshield. Everything is ok
