DSG with ACC active unexpected drive error

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just checking with the community because I am not able to find a proper "why" for this:

I was starting a 500 km trip and done 35km so far when the event happened. ACC on and set to 130 km, all fine ... works ahead on the motorway, one single lane and in front a truck rolling at 50 km, so ACC active at 50 km/h but set to 130 km, no problem, just rolling fine. When work section is over and the second lane is available, without touching the gas, always ACC active, blinker to the left, starting to pass and ... BAM ! Drive train error, please visit workshop ... WTF !

DSG auto set to sort kind of security state, not revving above 1500 rpm. Pulled over, visual check ... nothing. Smell check ... nothing. Ok, let's start again ... error gone, dsg fluid temp as expected. 5 minutes after I received a call from Skoda Service: We have here an error coming from drive train, all is fine? Yes yes, looking good, I do not know what happened but yes, rolling just fine. I drove for almost 150 in CC instead ACC, checking DSG fluid temp all the time, and all fine.

I completed the 1200 km trip without any issues and no errors, using ACC and CC. First thing I did when I was back home: plug OBDeleven and checked CU2 transmission to see any possible error ... but nothing, no faults stored.

And here I am ... do you know which could be the trigger? for sure was an electronic one, because at any time drive train was working above 1500 rpm, not pushing revs like crazy. My theory is that at some point, when trying to speed up, ACC forced the drive train to apply more torque than preset by gear and block the system ... but just a guess.

Cheers and thanks !

Hello,

Today I experienced the same issue. While I was driving, an ACC error suddenly appeared, followed by a DSG error and a message to visit the workshop. The Park Pilot also became unavailable. I stopped the car immediately, and after switching it off and then back on, everything worked perfectly again.

Did you have any problems afterwards?

Hi there, negative. Now I pay more attention between current speed vs speed set on ACC in order not to trigger the same error again.
