2011 VRS, no power. very slow

Featured Replies

Hi

Bought a 2011 VRS with possible turbo and other problems

We went through faults, replaced faulty turbo diverter valve, cam sensor and checked operation of turbo actuator

CEL turned off, but cars very slow. 0-60 times of 14 seconds. car does rev out but serious lacking grunt

Any common problems to reduce power?

Turbo pressure on full throttle, high revs shows -2.3psi

Thanks

Billy

It sounds like it's stuck in limp home mode, how are you reading the faults?

Very possibly the Supercharger is disabled.

Water pump / Supercharger Clutch.

It should be coming in at 2,800 - 3,500 rpm with the Turbo and no turbo from 3,500 rpm.

IIRC, relative boost should be around 1.5bar (22psi)

correction, misread heading.

Sounds like it has a massive boost leak , should be boosting over 1.0 bar of boost on stock map , check for hole in intercooler / smoke test it

Check intake hoses (to from charge cooler) I've had one come loose and it presents those symptoms

How do I test ? There is plenty of low down power , does the supercharger make some slight noise anyway ?

Easy to see these hoses and joints or is it bumper off job? Thanks

Hi. Jo not yet not had a chance. I removed turbo heat shield and checked actuator rod moves and there’s no play

You any ideas ?

Thanks
