OBD Reader questions?

Morning, just been to Halfords and had battery tested it's at 63% kicking out 400 amps and battery says should kick out 600 and something amps maybe this is what's causing my odd start up when it's left in the sun

Given those readings, if accurate, I would consider that battery to still be serviceable. I would be almost certain that Halfrauds tester did not recharge your battery before putting it on test.

My 9 year old EFB was only rated at 380 amps (Din) when new, and is currently sitting at around 55-60% health.

Just avoid all that nonesense and go and get yourself an ODBEleven dongle. It will be a lot less hassle and will give you a proper code readout as opposed to just generic codes.

Okay, yes. Acknowledge the low battery in keyfob. You have two bigger issues: Firstly, the gear selector sensor is faulty. Common problem on VAG cars. Quite an easy fix but you need a new gear select

Sure, that should be fine. That will read codes and allow you to do basic changes and checks.

Not sure what's causing the odd struggle start up he said starter motor was fine , possibly glow plugs ?

I've been trawling through my past postings and I found one that might be relevant to your occasional slow-ish start.

A previous poster reported back that their similar slow starting issue turned out to be caused by a faulty temperature sensor and was resolved by replacing it.

Is they any way to test this to save me replacing this if it isn't broken

Apart from simply replacing the correct sensor, the vehicle would need to be scanned and, preferably, live data from the various sensors read.

The resolution report of the case I mentioned did not say which specific temperature sensor was involved, but I assume it was not the one for the temperature gauge.

There will very likely be a DTC stored in the ECU memory - again, a scan would need to be done to identify any faults.

I have a launch x431 pro elite and that doesn't show any DTC other then low pressure , headlight range control and low voltage I think

Morning just remembered I bought a detailed pdf file for Skoda Octavias MK3 workshop manual if you need it I can email you it
