2025 Karoq speed limit warnings wildly inacurate

Featured Replies

Just got my Karoq and most of it I love. But driving around where I live I suddenly find it telling me the speed limit is 20mph where it is 30 30 where it is a 40 limit and interestingly on a duel carriage way in one direction it says 40mph yet the other it says the correct 70mph No road works on any of the roads. Any thoughts please or do I need to speak with Skoda tech ?

Are there any speed limit signs on side roads that it might be 'spotting' ?

On one of my regular trips , I pass by an army barracks and on one of the internal roads there's a 20 speed limit. My car 'spots' this and thinks I'm in a 20 limit!!

My 2025 Karoq does all the same things you report. If they can't get it working correctly why is it forced on us to accept this in our cars. I know we can turn it off but why should we have to do it every time we turn our engines on? The EU rulers state these things are there for safety but is it really safe to have us pressing buttons to turn something off while we drive along. I read an article in a recent Which magazine which stated nearly 50% of drivers are turning these systems off.

Don't even get me started on Lane Assist!

I have programmed the lane assist on one of my car's to remember its last setting after an ignition cycle.

So I can turn it on, but it's default state is off.

I keep being told it's not possible on more recent cars using the infotainment system to control Lane Assist and turn it off permanently. I would love mine to be "off" all the time and then be in control and turn it on if I wanted it. Did you use another method to "fix" yours?

Is it traffic sign recognition (TSR) or the NAV map based speed limit warning that is wrong. I do not have TSR in my Sept 24 Sportline but do have the map based speed warning activated. This consistently goes off on part of Brickhill Street in Milton Keynes saying it’s 30 mph limit when in fact it’s a 60 mph road.

No need to turn things off as you drive along, soon as I start the engine I now turn stuff off like lane assist and stop/start before I even drive off, only takes a second or two.

Back to original topic / query..........when you get the wrong speed limit warning is the sat nav showing exactly where you are or is that wrong too?
