Remove vomit smell from Suedia seats?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

my kid vomited on the back seats of my RS with Suedia seats. I cleaned up as best as I could using neutral soap and water, but the smell still persists.

Any product you would recommend?

Oh, never good.

valet pro enzyme odour eater is a good product and should clear it up, but may need more than one application.

If you have access to a rug doctor type carpet/upholstery cleaner, then that will help tremendously as it will pull liquid out of the seats too.

I have heard that an open container of white vinegar left in the car overnight can neutralise it - but have thankfully never had to try it, good luck!

I don't know where you are from but there are some great products on the market that could be helpful for you .One that I use a lot is Eucalyptus oil. I have never had to deal with vomit but if there is a totally unpleasant odor I would spray it with Eucalyptus spray or alternatively put some in a spray bottle with some ethanol and spray it on area that has the smell. You could also ask a dry cleaner what you could use ? Because I am sure they deal with lots of smells.

Not sure how well it works on old accidents but a great hack a fellow car detailer told me....

Keep a bag of baking soda and a bottle od water in the boot.

ASAP, clear away the large chunks as best as you can. Mix a runny paste of baking soda and water and apply liberally on the vomited areas (seats, belts, child seats, everything).

Baking soda will kill the bacteria in the vomit resposible for the smell and it will stop it from spreading around the entire car.

It will leave white stains but they can easily be removed by dry cleaning (along with the vomit stains).

I had the unfortunate pleasure of using this hack a couple of times and i swear by it.

Is this suede? Because you can get specialised suede cleaners from B&Q amongst others, otherwise try a mixture of white vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and water.
