Software Update/Service Campaign

Featured Replies

For those that have had the latest software update for the assist system errors, dash/virtual cockpit map fix & the ACC/cruise control 94EW recall, How long did Skoda require your vehicle for?

I’ve read elsewhere that Skoda need the vehicle for 3-4 days (sometimes longer) to complete this work? Also a few instances of vehicles no longer starting after the work has been completed or the update failing to download/install.

What’s been your experience of the updates? How many days were required? Any issues after the updates?

Anyone ?

I have a Superb, Same platform. They've been trying to do the update for 3 days now... Currently having issues with modules not working. They've had the car 6 weeks for other issues... I'd advise waiting a bit and letting them iron the issues out.

I’m due a service in about a month and I expect they’ll want to do the update at the same time.

I may see if I can put the update off for the time being as I can’t be without the car for more than a day.

@Plobber I have just had the call to get mine updated. They want the car for 2 days!

It must be a very large file, unless they have to check every feature works as it should after the update?

For me it took 2 days, left it at 12:00 on a Wed and got it back at 16:00 the next day. Some module was getting locked and they needed to call Skoda about it.

@CFB Did the dealer say which fix they would apply?

Unfortunately to, but I’ll ring them on Monday and ask

Sorry, my comment was about the 90EE SW recall.

94EW action is a HW recall, linked to the ACC stalk, took about 2 hours, provided they have it on stock.

After the software update there is a quite persistant 'battery care' option. It keeps popping up, forcing max 80% charge. Very annoying.

Bought a car with 120+ km. Knowing full well it wont do that actually most of the year. But to then start capping 80% charge is very frustrating.

Same here, but I just leave it there, my OCD got used to both the stupid notification in the message list and the reminder at engine off.

I always charge to 100%.

I would do that, but it keeps turning on the function including the 80% cap.

You can disable it in the settings. Did that the first day I got my car back and since then no notification or caping the battery level.

Nope... Turns on automatically every time...

@Plobber apparently it’s to update the whole car. All the control modules, infotainment and virtual cockpit. Lets hope it cures the Starting map view issue too.

Correction: I didn’t enable this at first, that’s why I was able to disregard this s***.

But now, since I fiddled a bit with it, it activates every single time…. 🤬

I need to drag the slider to 100 % or else it defaults to 80….

I took mine in to skoda dealer just for a glitches on my infotainment system. They said there was a big update 90ee update. They said it would take 2 days so I said go ahead. Its now been over a week and looking like going on 2 weeks. They told they contacted head office in Milton Keynes to send a remote update to my car. They also said there was a problem with the abs and brakes are staying on. So I don't know what they have done because everything was working fine just the infotainment system. Still know idea when I will get my car back.

Its under battery protection or something in the infotainment. There is a button there to stop it re-enabling after every charge.

I dropped mine of last Monday at Skoda, collected my courtasy car and my car was ready by close of business on the Tuesday (next day).

Unfortunately Arnold Shark have a monopoly on Scotland and had to use them resulting in me finding a wee chip on my passanger door.

Forget Arnold Clark. Go to Henrys Glasgow instead.

There based in Hamilton? I'm Renfrewshire and the thought of hitting the M8 traffic works is a big turn off. As this was recall i thought it wouldn't matter (tell that to my poor door). But I'll use Henry's for it's first service.

Cheers!

They're nowhere near Hamilton. And what makes you think Arnold Clark have any sort of monopoly? If you want excellent customer service give Henrys Glasgow a call. They're based at 151 Kyle Street, Glasgow G4 0DS, 0141 552 9000. I've been with them since 2018 and am now enjoying my fifth Skoda Kodiaq.

Thought they were Hamilton. I'll give them a call nearer the time.

Glad you rate them.

You see more AC signs and showrooms than anyone else, or they hide their name like on the BMW garages.

Christ knows how they got BMW back after all that fraud back in the day, mileage tampering...

Used to own Seat's and was glad I found Livingston's in Uddingston.

Prefer independant garages, better service. 🤌

Park's is the main Skoda dealership in Hamilton.
