Travelling abroad - Headlight Adaptors

Featured Replies

Travelling to France in a few weeks and need to adjust the headlights. Consulted the manual and it says for non xenon headlights put tape on the wedge shaped area on the headlight. Only problem being that the headlght covers are just clear plastic with no markings. Anyone come across this and does anyone know exactly where the tape needs to be put?

If you check in your manual it should give you the loaction & size of tape required,

Also careful inspection of the headlamp lens. you should see either a plain or patterned area that requires marking off - again the manual should be able to guide you.

Hope this helps :)

Yeah but his headlamps ahve the clear lense, so not patterened areas to line up on.

Just checked with my local dealer (Ashmore Green).

They said bring it in before the trip and they will realign the lights for travelling abroad. They will then mark on the lens where the tape needs to go and realign for the UK. All I have to do they is stick tape on whilst on the Eurotunnel.

Hoping my front headlights have an area to mark off for the trips to the Nurburgring and Prague....

I have never and will never adjust my headlights for travel abroad and have ridden/driven abroad at least 100 times on various trips, without any problems whatsoever. Furthermore I don't use a GB sticker.

A lot of fuss if you ask me..........but then nobody did did they.

buy some converter covers from Skoda:thumbup:

If I need to do it, I'll do it with some duck tape. ;) I'd rather spend the money on laps of the Ring than at Skoda. ;)

I bought some stick-on ones but never applied them.

If someone pulled us over and asked, we'd stick them on.

I dont bother either, no GB sticker or lens converters on the Boxster. I had a GB plate on the vRS, but never bothered with the lights. This despite driving many KMS in the dark in germany between the ring and Cologne.
