Fuel trap drain problem

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my fuel filler flap drain. It seems to be blocked.

I've tried using a very fine brush, but I can't get it in. I also tried blowing air through the drain hole with a syringe.

After heavy rain or when I wash the car, I have to empty the contents of the hatch with a syringe.

Do you know if this part is easy to repair? Is it attached somewhere or does the pipe fall directly onto the wheel arch insulation?

Thanks for your help!

They tend to just dangle down behind the plastic arch liner.

Ought to be pretty easy to remove and unblock.

I'd be having a go in situ with a bit of earth wire stripped out from some thickish twin and earth house wiring cable, or a straightened out wire coat hanger.

Mine was blocked, managed to clear it by poking gently with a cocktail stick.

Thin coated gardening wire or strimmer cable. It does block up from time to time.
