Question on rotating wheels on Kodiaq 2023 plate

Featured Replies

I have a 2023 plate Kodiaq that have 3mm of tread left on the front tyres and 5mm on the back. We've bought a new Kodiaq due to be delivered in Oct/November, and I want to avoid buying new tyres if I don't have to.

My plan is to put the rear wheels on the front - does anyone know if this will short the computer out (as I've been told may happen from a local tyre place)?

Any info greatly appreciated!

Cheers

It should have no effect. If the TPMS system is the indirect type, as it is on our Karoq, the system works from measurements taken from the ABS sensos which are in the wheel hubs, not the wheels. Change them round, reset to correct pressures, then re-initiallise the system in the settings menus.

Ok great, I figured that might be the case. I did this in my last car which was a Hyundia Tucson with no issues. You never know though!

I did the same and it didn't cause any issues. Just be careful though, if your delivery is delayed you could end up replacing 4 instead of just the two at the front. At this stage in the game if I had to put tyres on they’d be the cheapest i could put on the car.

Never go to "Kwik-Krap" (or whatever they're called) for advice ever again.
