Maps Update for Amundsen Head Unit failing to Unzip.

Featured Replies

Having updated maps fairly regularly in the past, I decided to update to the latest 2026 maps from the Skoda port (https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-GB/Updates/)

Every attempt to download the maps, doesn't matter which one, results in a corrupt zip file.

I've tried ECE 5 2026 UK and Central Europe I've also tried ECE A1 2026 whole of Europe. I do have a 32Gb Skoda SD card. But in this case its irrelevant as none of the maps will unzip saying the file is corrupt.

Wonder if someone else could give it a go and let me know if they have the same issue.

I would say the site has a problem because it failed here in Australia and site is very slow as I have a 500Gb connection nad its coming down at the same speed as my old 50gb one Why dont you go here and get the same maps https://app-connect.volkswagen.com/mapupdates/en/car/#download Ive been crossing between the two for years and you dont need a VIN on the VW ones Same files just named differently

The files download at a reasonable speed but are corrupt once finished.

Zip file format is invalid.

Ok I d/loaded no 3 and using win RAR have got it on my hard drive no problems. ARE YOU USING A DEVILS SPAWN MAC cost that will F it up faster than anything. Is slow but works

The zip.file headers were corrupted. WinRAR recognised that and still unpacked it. Standard pkunzip didn't want to play nicely.

Just done this for the ECE 5 download. No problem using the built in Extract function in Windows 11.

Maybe the issue has been fixed. Haven't loaded the files to my SD card yet though.

PS. 30 minutes to download, 1 minute to extract.

PPS No idea why but my pc went to the en-US portal address instead of en-GB. Don't know if that makes any difference.
